4 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Great PSU. is pretty quiet and stable. Price is great.

Cons: Cable lengths are way to short. I was very dissapointed in the length of some of the cables and I had to use an extension for the ATX 12V rail.

Other Thoughts: The case I used was a Antec 300

You certainly wont stick your hand in fire will you? You wont because you know better. Why get risk getting burned with other power supplies.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great - runs fairly cool/quiet, no problems with installation at all. Runs with reasonable efficiency, it appears.

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: didn't have the 6x2 connector that was on my Gigabyte mobo, but the mobo had a workaround that used a 2x2, so it was alright.

5 out of 5 eggsSilencer PPC-420

Pros: Clean design and I like the braided harnesses. This unit replaced an old Silencer 400W unit that I probably abused for the last
6-years and was finally killed by a P4-820D and a case that was heavily loaded with hard drives. I like that PPC added a rocker-switch on the power supply, unlike their older units

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: None

5 out of 5 eggsRemember the Name

Pros: The name is all you need to know. PCP&C is one of the best, if not the best consumer power supply maker. I have used their power supplies since they were called the TurboCool series, and it is powerful, quiet, and stable. This particular model has a rough finish black powder coating that is very scratch resistant and durable. It is without a doubt silent, and the pre-sleeved cables make it look great. I bought this locally because I needed it quick, but boy am I satisfied.

Cons: No modular cables.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent as Usual

Pros: PCP&C power supplies are the best.

Cons: None at this time

Other Thoughts: I've been using PCP&C power supplies exclusively for a very long time. I've never had one fail. I was a bit leary when they got bought out by OCZ, but the quality seems to be there, still. This one was for a rebuild of my wife's computer, it replaced a PCP&C Turbo-Cool 300 that operated flawlessly for years.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat can you expect from PCP&C?

Pros: Its PCP&C, so I'm not going to write some raving review on how awesome this thing is. its expected. When I replaced the fried no-name 400W PSU with this thing, I noticed the computer actually booted twice as fast and the GPU didn't hang for 15 seconds when I would start to load a map in games. I thought it was a driver issue, when all the time it was a power issue.
Also lives up to its name: Silent
has a great black paint job- I can't tell you how satisfied I am with this thing, PCP&C didn't miss a single detail, it was certainly worth the extra $20.

Cons: UPS. smashed the box it came in, but the PSU within was well protected and wasn't damaged.

Other Thoughts: People have complained about short cable length- I didn't have an issue even with the weird connection points my MSI P4MAM2-V mobo has. Unless you've got a big case with a bottom mount PSU slot, you won't have a problem- and if you've got a case that big, you've probably also got a GPU that a 420W PSU would be iffy with anyways.
Used as a replacement PSU for an old system, didn't need the SATA cables. No big deal, just tucked them out of sight so they didn't muck up the view from the side window of my case.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, high quality

Pros: + Very quiet
+ Uses an 80mm fan, so there's more room for heatsinks than if it were to use a 120mm fan.
+ Long, sleeved cables
+ Solid feel

Cons: Costs more than cheap brands.

Other Thoughts: + 420W is plenty of power for just about any system. I have a dual-socket quad-core (8 total cores) Nehalem-based Xeon server with 4 hard drives that runs fine on a power supply with lower output than this. Get a Kill-a-Watt meter and see for yourself.
