1 out of 5 eggsNice PSU, but DOA

Pros: Arrived quickly, nice packaging, neatly arranged. Silent.

Cons: Failed to provide power. Tripped fuse over at local repair shop and tested negative with ATX power supply tester.

Have to deal with newegg's RMA process that does not cross ship. Western digital's RMA does, though requiring a credit card, is a great boon.

Other Thoughts: I expected a high end PSU to arrive guaranteed functional. I've gotten the bad luck of the draw.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Anonymous,

We are sorry to hear your PSU arrived damaged. All of our units are tested prior to shipment to a reseller, but sometimes accidents occur in shipping. If you experience any issues with your replacement please contact us directly and we will get you taken care of.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience!

Kind Regards,
PCPC/OCZ Support

5 out of 5 eggsVery good PSU

Pros: Strong, quiet, plenty of cables. My mobo uses both 8 pins + the ATX. no extra "fixed" cables laying about. Plently of molex, sata etc. If this holds uip to PC Power's rep (since bought buy OCZ) you can't go wrong.

Modular cables have a much better connector than all other offerings (which use the Ultra patented form factor)

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: not at all large. my Silverstone 1500 is much longer.

if you need (or think you need) 1200W, this is the one.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Power Supply horrible RMA

Pros: If you are looking for a good high end power supply you then know you are limited in options. This unit is quiet, and a single rail which is a big plus in my book. Also I enjoy the semi modular style of the unit.

Cons: The biggest con is the company itself and the horrible RMA process. I have had this unit for 4 months when it died. They have no advanced replacement options for anything over a month old. I could see this if it was a sub $100 dollar unit. I know other companies do it even if they have to exchange the power supply model.

Other Thoughts: So the pros are up there. I have been an avid PC Power and Cooling fan for years. I am sad to say I think this will be the last time I will purchase one. I love the 7 year warranty (already needed after 4 months), love the power rating and the looks.

Though when my system is down for half a month due to a premium power supply going out. I would prefer some option from the company to get it back up within a week.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great and looks even better!

Pros: Plenty of power and modularity is good.

Cons: The sleeving for the modular PCI-E cables is different than the attached cables.

Other Thoughts: It looks totally awesome in a Striker case!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome PSU

Pros: Great, sustainable, quiet solution for Tri-SLI\Crossfire setups.

Love how it has two cooling options for its very effective fan (quiet or full speed; and full speed is pretty quiet)

Cons: Pricey as it is, but does drop on sale; at which point, is a GREAT deal.

Also, I wish each PCI-E cable had TWO (each) 6+2 pin; instead of only one per chord (since most GPUs have two ports required for power)

Other Thoughts: Great PSU at sale price; if this thing drops to $200 again, dont pass it up! (Especially for 1200 watts of Platinum certified power)

5 out of 5 eggsReally nice unit

Pros: The packaging was excellent and the bag for the cables was a nice touch. I love the mic jack style cable connectors. Much powah! (way more than I need TBH :p )

Cons: One too many cables were hard-wired for my rig. It would have been nice if they just hard-wired the 24-pin, one 8-pin CPU and perhaps one 6/8-pin VGA cable. Also, the power connectors on the SATA cable are a bit too far apart for my liking. It's a little on the pricey side, but not much compared to other PSU's in it's class. It was worth it to me for the stylish (and secure) modular cable connectors. All of this may be worth half an egg ding, if that.

Other Thoughts: If, like me, you prefer something nicer than the included rubber caps for unused connection ports, do a quick web search for SO239 rain cap - very nice chrome screw-on caps.

5 out of 5 eggsLIKE A ROCK

Pros: NOT A RIPPLE, VERY STEADY POWERFUL SINGLE RAIL. DOES THE JOB WITH 2 7970'S PLUS A CROSSHAIR V MOBO AND FX -8350 OC'ED TO 4.8 SOLID

Cons: THE MODULAR CABLES ARE A PAIN TO GET IN ESP AFTER INSTALLATION OF PS IN CASE. AM NOT CRAZY ABOUT THE WHITE COLOR, BUT I HAVE GOTTEN USED TO IT. THE THING IS VERY, VERY QUIET.

4 out of 5 eggsGREAT PSU!!

Pros: Extremely quiet, very powerful 12volt single rail, modular, no fan at all untill 50% power usage and very stable rails. Very low power ripple on all rails and 80+ platinum.

Cons: There aren't many however that being said this is what i think: It should have been 100% modular instead of having the motherboard, 2 cpu and 2 gpu 8 pin connectors. Im not a fan of the white color but not really a con. No sticker to put on your case. I take off 1 egg because its not 100% modular, but take that as you will.

Other Thoughts: Its the best PSU i have ever owned, and the highest in price. Ive always had PC Power&Cooling PSUs even though they were bought out by OCZ. I did alot of research on this unit and it had many excellent reviews. Stable, low ripple, 80+ Platinum, you wont go wrong with this at all!!

5 out of 5 eggsThere is no alternative

Pros: This power supply is beautiful. The modular design is exactly what i need. Yes it can be considered semi-modular because not every cable is modular. However, the ones that are directly connected are the ones you would expect: Mobo, CPU 4+4, pci-express 8+8. The durability is superb. The look is clean. The packaging shows A+ QA/QC. It includes more than enough modular cables for expansion. Each modular cable has 4 connections, the first 3 at right angles and the last straight. Extremely quiet, hence the name "Silencer". This is a "Power Users" PSU.

Cons: Heavy. Price, but I got mine for about $200. Wait for discounts. I did have a tiny bit of trouble making the CPU cables reach the motherboard connectors. However this is because I have a "HUGE" AZZA Genesis 9000 Full tower and i wanted to route the cable behind the Mobo tray and I am not setup in reverse ATX setup that the tower offers.

Other Thoughts: This is my second PC Power and Cooling PSU. They are IMHO the absolute highest quality power supplies on the market. My first one is a 7yr old 910Watt non-modular and it still kicks perfectly. I upgraded to this 1200W for "Future Proofing". With all my components I still have about 400 available watts. Enough for another GTX 680 OC in the future. Bottom line, if you want top notch quality, room for expansion and just a overall wicked setup.... there is no alternative.
