Will the startech atx power 250 replace the bestec atx 250 12z rev d6r?

The best way to know for sure is the look at the voltages and amps on the old power supply and see if the Startech matches or exceeds. I buy the model because of the -5volt supply to not many supplies offer. Hope this helps.

is the PCI connector the 4 pin connector on to the motherboard? If so it appears I need that. It is for an 7-8 yr. old Compaq Tower. If I need that, do you sell one that has the PCI connector for an ATX 250w. I am just trying to get the data off my HD. Time for a new machine.

The PCI connector usually refers to a video card connector. Motherboards usually have 2 sets of power connectors. The 20+4-pin main power connector plus either a 4-pin or 4+4-pin ATX 12v power connector. If you are trying to get the data off a HD determine if old drive is a sata hard drive or 40-pin ide. Most new computer motherboards do not support the 40-pin ide, only sata 3/6. You might be able to find a HD enclosure for the old HD and connect to new computer via usb. Just be aware that if you don't know what you are doing that you could accidentally over-write the data of the old HD. BE CAREFUL.
