5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Clean Stable power. Modular, Long enough wires for bottom mount cases. Blue fan light

Cons: Can be a slight ticking in the bearing.

Other Thoughts: I have used this powersupply since I built this rig early 2009. Has worked flawlessly for many hours. Just recently I noticed the fan not turning at computer start up, so I called Xigmatek US support and we are working out a RMA, that isn't resolved. New number for Xigmatek's US repair offices is 631 343-7232

3 out of 5 eggsUpdate About RMA

Pros: Thanks to Newegg for providing a valid contact number for Xigmatek.
In case anyone else needs it, I'll post it here:

Cons: Upon finally being able to contact Xigmatek, I mentioned to them that the email address provided on their website bounces back as undeliverable.
They said they were aware of it and were in the process of fixing it.
As of now it is still not working. Guess they laid off their system admin or something. LOL!!

Other Thoughts: Once I contacted Xigamtek, they were very friendly and immediately provided me with an RMA #.
Received a replacement within in a few days of Xigmatek receiving the bad power supply.
But it took several days of chasing invalid contact info and having to resort to contacting Newegg for help contacting them to get this issue resolved.

Could have gotten the computer back up and running a week earlier had Xigmatek provided a valid email address on their website.

And a BIG thanks to Newegg and their top notch customer service.
Newegg ROCKS!!!

1 out of 5 eggsMay Want To Reconsider

Pros: Looks good. Nice shiny blue lighted fan. Modular.

Cons: May want to reconsider buying any Xigmatek product. I bought 2 of these back in early 2009. They advertise a 3 year warranty. Well one died last week.
No problem. I'll just contact them and get an RMA.

Think again! No reply from their website contact page. Emails bounce and come back with Chinese writing which translates to "Can't deliver to recipient"
It's to their support department! Guess it's non-existent.

So now I'm left with a boat anchor and have to pay for another power supply. And every day I keep hoping the other power supply doesn't die.

Other Thoughts: Before you buy any product, make sure you can contact the support department and that you get a timely reply from them.

As for Xigmatek?
All I'll say is that I'll pass on them and they will never get any of my future business.

4 out of 5 eggsNeeds better cable management

Pros: Powers everything I need it to. Comes in a nice case. Seems to be very reliable. Modular stuff is nice. It is very quiet and I like that it's 80 Plus certified.

Cons: I wish I would have looked at the pictures more for this PSU. Why are there so many PCI-E connectors that aren't modular? Why is the 4 pin mobo power connector not modular? Now I have a ton of unnecessary cables tied up from a "modular" power supply...that's just a silly idea.

The 8 pin mobo power connector wasn't long enough for me. I have a HAF 932 and I mounted the PSU on the bottom of the case. I ran the 8 pin power connector behind the mobo for better cable management but it wasn't long enough. Luckily my fantastic mobo (GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R) came with an 8 pin power connector extension...who would have thought that would come in handy? I'm not sure why the PSU didn't come with the extension.

Other Thoughts: Beware that if you have a full tower case the 8 pin power connector might not be long enough for you.

3 out of 5 eggsTHE CLICKING!!!

Pros: Great Price. Good features. All I can say.

Cons: I would continue with the Pros, but I keep getting droned out by the incessant clicking.
I have contacted Xigmatec support 2x and have not gotten any response

Other Thoughts: I'd like to think that this is an isolated incident, but there is no excuse for the poor support. Xigmatec lost an egg on the noise and an additional one for poor service (it would be more if the PSU wasn't such a good fit in all other ways)

5 out of 5 eggs20 months later Still Great

Pros: This is the Best PSU I've ever had in a long time and I had this PSU for over now about 20 months. Excellent power and I makes me happy that I have this in my case.

Cons: None...

2 out of 5 eggsBuy Corsair instead!

Pros: Looks nice, modular, and on paper should be a very good PSU.

Cons: Was always flakey... would just cut power to the PC at random, although infrequent. Finally, it would not power back on... bought it 3/18/09. Didn't even last a year!

Newegg requires original packaging to return or replace... if you do buy this, KEEP THE PACKAGING!

Other Thoughts: We use Corsair 750's here at work (my own spec) and they NEVER have issues - and we run them hard, all day every day - and has been since OCT '08. I bought this PSU over those because it was modular for the same price. What a mistake!

I have it 2 eggs, instead of 0/1 because I know some people get lucky and get a good one... to them this is a great PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PS

Pros: Very High quality, relatively quiet (I can't hear it over the existing case fans), modular design for most of the outputs - you only have to hook up the cabling you need, which keeps things much neater and open.

This is the most I've ever spent on a power supply as I usually go with the cheapest I can get away with, but after having a power supply die after a few years and replacing it with a cheapo only to have it fail within a month, I splurged on this one. I feel like I got what I paid can see a lot of high quality heat sinks and such on the inside and it weighs at least twice as much as the one I replaced. The packaging was high quality as well.

Cons: None, I'll probably go with some variant of this PS on future boxes. Although I suppose some may be turned off by the LED's on the fan, but if you don't have a clear panel, this shouldn't be visible and even with a panel it's pretty subtle.

Other Thoughts: Seeing the picture with the fan on the top concerned me for minute, but you just install it with the fan facing down if you have a case where the PS mounts up top.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks just fine

Pros: More than enough power, 80 plus cert., modular (mostly)

Cons: The motherboard power and CPU power cables aren't modular. Not necessarily a problem but you might have an extra cable dangling in your case. The CPU cable that's attached is a 4pin and my CPU needs an 8 pin. The 8 pin is a separate modular cable so I have the 4 pin just hanging out in the case. Not exactly what you want with a modular design.

8 pin CPU cable is *just* long enough to reach if mounted at the bottom of a case. I didn't have a large case either (Antec 300) and I had to fish it underneath the video card. That is until I bought an extension cable.

Other Thoughts: If you plan on bottom mounting this PSU (and need an 8pin CPU power connector), I'd just go ahead and spend the 3 bucks on an extension cable, you'll probably need it.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: I love the modular cable system that just lets me chose which cables I want to run.
Not very loud.
Awesome looking.
Big fan to provide good airflow

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I was woried a bit when I ordered xigmatek because I had never heard of them, but any company that pays this much attention to the little things, is going to take care of the big things. Best looking computer component I've ever owned.
