1 out of 5 eggsReally Hard to Put Drive in it

Pros: Cheap

Cons: I struggled to put my HDT722516DLA380 3.5" Hard Drive in there. The enclosure has a top opening only so you have to pop the hard drive in or something. I'm not sure if it's because my hard drive is too big or something but I couldn't make it fit. Since it doesn't have any openings on the side, it has a plastic frame all around, I was afraid I was going to break it before I was able to push the hard drive in.

Other Thoughts: I decided to return the item to Newegg.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap and Works

Pros: USB is slow, but it does the job.

Cons: The instructions that come with it suck.

Other Thoughts: I see all these comments about how it does not work. It does work. Look into your Disk Management and make a partition for the drive. This will wipe the drive clean and make it work like you would expect.

1 out of 5 eggsWrecked two drives

Pros: Looks nice... Cheap.

Cons: Was a bit of a pain to get the drive into the enclosure.

Got it in, hooked it up and it shows the whole capacity of a properly formatted and partitioned drive as unallocated. All attempts with several tools yielded no success in getting the partitions to show.

And as the final nail, it took 15 minutes, pliers and two screwdrivers to get the drive back out of the enclosure, and I hadn't closed the top yet.

Other Thoughts: DO. NOT. BUY. PERIOD.
One star because I can't give it 0.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: None

Disappointed with Newegg's standards.
A loyal customer with them for years. Would never imagine not only do they sell crapware and not care, but seem to hold their customers to the same standards.

So my point...
I needed a USB2.0 HDD Enclosure. Nothing fancy, just something to place an exciting HDD into for portability. Newegg offers such a enclosures, and look they have "Cavalry EN-CAUH-B". OK, so it's cheap, it doesn't have to solve the world or make apple pie, it just needs to allow me to read/write data to a previously used HDD. Newegg states that this enclosure supports up to 3Tb, great thats what I have to put in, and that it's plug & play. Which by my definition means, I connect a HDD, plug it into a computer and play (read/write data to/from HDD).

Cons: And here's the problem...
Got enclosure connected my 3Tb fully stuffed HDD up, plugged it in, and low and behold it's asking me to format it. Wooow! No! No! No! That's not plug and play. So I open disk management and it's saying my 3Tb HDD is only 750Gb. I'm not formatting, my 3Tb HDD is practically full. But that's alright, I have a spear HD, it's not as big, it's not what I got the enclosure for, but atlease it's not a waste of money.

Other Thoughts: Wrong...It cost more than its worth...
So I reconnected my 3Tb HDD straight back to my computer. Press Power, and its not showing up. So again to Disk Management, where it's asking to partition as MBR or GUID.. My though, in the words of the famous Doctor..who..What... I just, What... All that data, What... How the What.... WHAT

So I went back to Neweggs website to re-read the details, and nope I read it right, upto 3Tb, plug and play.
And then I notice in a picture, in the Image gallery, on the Box, a lock, and next to the box a disc. that seems to hold "Encryption Software". But I never got that disc, and I never encrypted my HDD. So then I did what I should of done in the first place, Read the feedbacks...
(But as I stated earlier it's just a plug & play enclosure, not Fort Knox. Which I guess would be good, if thats what you were told you were getting)
And there are a lot of negative feedbacks. So why don't Newegg do something... Read and Respond.
With all these negative feedbacks, your customers aren't happy. So pull the product = no more negative feedbacks. And I understand getting a few, but these are all poor feedbacks.

And what really make this crapware is the CD partition of the enclosure. It's a HDD not a flashdrive.
I wanted to be able to take my movies from PC to x360. But can't because the x360 only reads the first partition of the HDD, which lays the CD partition.

In Conclusion...
Newegg test your products, before you list it on your site with false details or not enough info.
And remove those with nothing but poor feedback. I shouldn't have to read feedback for good products, it's your job to sell good products.
And if you don't have any testers or not enough...I'm for hire... I'll also give reviews that your customers can trust.

1 out of 5 eggsMr

Pros: Looks shiney

Cons: Very difficult to get open and put drive in place and to get to snap closed. But now it wont open, try to be gentile then harder , finally a snaping sounds and it's toast. Will not close now, need a rubber band to keep closed. And this was same with both that I bought.

Other Thoughts: need a rubber band to keep closed.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks like its supposed to

Pros: Its a HD case... it holds the HD and makes it USB...

Cons: Case snaps together with some quirks, little to no airflow.
Has a firmware that loads a virtual DVD drive on the computer. Ask Cavalry to give me or show me utility to configure or delete the drive and they said it could not be done.

Other Thoughts: LED on front may be distracting to some.

1 out of 5 eggsDON'T BUY!!!

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Everything....
Wiped my hard drive MBR and made it completely unusable. I was planning to use this device to house my backups...instead I got a paper weight out of the deal and lost over 10 years worth of files. I am at a total loss and am attempting to recover the data. This product is total junk!!

Other Thoughts: Please don't buy this item...no matter the price...You really do get what you pay for...
