5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it's supposed to do

Pros: This mounting kit has holes in the bottom, so I could mount a 500GB Seagate Momentus XT in a Silverstone SG01B-F-USB3.0 chassis.

Cons: Completely made of plastic, and the screws that ship with it are self-tapping, so I can't imagine this thing being particularly durable if you swap cases frequently.

Other Thoughts: It's as if this thing was made for the Silverstone SG01B-F. Silverstone should provide these with all chassis that have bottom-mount hard disk trays.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Mounting holes, screws, size, perfect all around.

It's plastic, more then sufficient for the task. Why? Shock is one solid reason. What absorbs impact better, metal or plastic. Doesn't take an Einstein to figure that out.

And if you over torque the bracket to cage (if screws are even needed), it could be repaired. But why the torque, it's just there to keep that featherweight of an SSD from flying around.

Also today's newer cases should not need screws to mount the bracket in 3-1/2" drive bays anyway.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Have modified steel, aluminum, and plastic parts on cases including custom mounted hard drives. I can't see how this simple item can get anything but 5 stars. Items as these aren't rocket science, they either are made to a common spec, or they aren't.

Plastic I see as a benefit. Could have had an almost identical adapter in metal. Chose plastic. More resilient, absorbs shock.

Born into a world of metal, I watched it change to a world of plastics and a combination of both. Plastic is cheaper to produce yet we pay more. Why, because in some instances it's just better.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Cheap, does the job

Cons: - I was only able to match up the front 2 screws for my SSD, the back 2 don't show through the pre-drilled holes... Only knocking an egg off for that. It fit and went into my case fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGood little bracket

Pros: Good price
It works with my screwless Cooler Master case.
It fits in the both the floppy and hard drive slots.

Cons: Plastic, but the case feels plastic too so I don't think metal would help much.

Other Thoughts: I was glad to see the holes line up in the floppy slots because I wasn't using them otherwise.

5 out of 5 eggsworks as advertised

Pros: Works great to put 1 or 2 2.5" drives in a 3.5" bay. Seems like perfectly sufficient quality and it had all the screw holes I needed.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for SSD

Pros: Using this with a few SanDisk SSDs, great for mounting in a 3.5" bay in my case. No issues installing. Solid construction

Cons: Screw holes didn't line up in one of my cases...not enough to dock an egg though. Was still able to use one on either side.

5 out of 5 eggs2 SSD note.

Pros: Dose what it was made to do.

Cons: Plastic but I knew this going in.

Other Thoughts: If you are going to mount 2 SSD's/2.5 sata drives in this bracket make sure you have thin sata power plugs handy. I have the sata power plugs on the supply with the wires run vertically to the plug. With 2 drives in the bracket there was no way to plug them both in due to the thickness of the wires. Lucky for me I had a molex to sata power adapter with 2 thin plugs on it.
Good product just something to consider when you buy.
