4 out of 5 eggsCheap way to add 3.0 up front

Pros: I got it for the 3.0 and ssd caddy, until I realized an ssd can be put anywhere any direction. Now I use one with the 2.5 dock and use 2.5 hard drives with 3 year warranties instead of external HHDs with 90 day warranties.

Cons: none for a micro build.

2 out of 5 eggsUseful, could be much better

Pros: For a single SSD solution, this is most handy.

Cons: The double-walled screw-entry process begs for a magnetic tip screwdriver, but the outer rails' 'entry holes' aren't big enough so get a very long, very thin mag screwdriver bit.

Also, the cables are so thick that these interfere with the screw-hole locations on the inner rails.

Other Thoughts: This could be an excellent product when needed, but the difficulty because of the too-small guide-holes on the outer 'rails' makes inserting screws needlessly difficult. This is a poor choice of cut-out diameters by the maker - a larger hole would be easily implemented.

SSDs align perfectly when the SSD itself is flipped over.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price, price, price. Does exactly what it says it will do for (at the time of purchase) the cheapest I could find.

Cons: Cheap plastic, but as long as it works...

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't hesitate buying this again after using it. If I wanted a nicer metal one, I would look elsewhere, but for the money, it works as advertised.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it is supposed to do

Pros: Everything fits, tray is metal.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: A great way to put that otherwise pointless 3.5" front panel bay to good use. I could have paid an extra $10 for my Rosewill Challenger case to have ONE USB3.0 port on the front panel, or spend the same amount of money for TWO USB3.0 ports on the front, plus a tray for a 2.5" SSD.

2 out of 5 eggsBYTECC U3-225 USB 3.0 Front Hub Bracket

Pros: Nice addition if you actually have a 3.5 inch drive opening.

Cons: I figured that this USB 3.0 front hub bracket would have the hardware to mount it in a 5.25 inch front bay. Unfortunately, it didn't, and I didn't have the necessary pieces lying around. Bad assumption on my part, but the description could have been more helpful.

3 out of 5 eggsok, serves it purpose

Pros: Price, color, design, quality cable

Cons: No quality checks, hole pattern doesn't match my brackets

Other Thoughts: This product is exactly what I was looking for to add USB 3.0 connectors to the front of my case (I don't need it for SSD my case already has a place for that). It's appearance matches the looks of my case very well. The USB cable looks to be of very high quality. Functionally the Ports work great. The problem comes in the assembly of the bracket and the cable. There are a number of metal tabs bent into place to secure the plugs and these tabs cause the connectors to line up improperly with the rectangular holes in the front. I can still manage to plug my cables into it but it is definitely crooked (works fine though). The other problem is the mounting hole pattern doesn't match the holes in my 5.25 to 3.5 bracket. I got it mounted but its not exactly flush with the front face of my case. I haven't found anything better though.

5 out of 5 eggsHighly functional and well-made...

Pros: Holds your SSD and puts USB3 ports on the front of cases that lack them.

Cons: No real cons. Seems kind of silly that Newegg wants me to type something here.

Other Thoughts: I've bought a few & will buy more.

This is the IDEAL companion to the very tidy little Cooler Master Elite 361 case, pretty much the slimmest full ATX case you'll find, and just forty bucks right now. Sure wish Newegg would make these two a permanent combo deal.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked for my build. I have an SSD and a SSHD in mine.

Cons: As other have mentioned, getting the screws in the bottom drive is a bit tricky, in my experience mostly due to the cable getting in the way. I had to bend the brackets just a little bit to get all 4 screws in place.
It might be my case, but I could only get 2 of the 4 screws in my 3.5 inch bay into this bracket. no matter what I did, I could not get all 4 lined up.

Other Thoughts: Cheap and decent quality for the price. Just take your time and be patient getting everything mounted.

I haven't tried the cables yet, I bought mostly for the dual drive mount. For me the cables are a bonus.

3 out of 5 eggsDoesn't fit

Pros: Cool design, looks great

Cons: Doesn't fit into 3 1/2 external because the face of it bells out a little. Not worth the cost of sending it back, maybe I'll file the sides down so it will fit.

4 out of 5 eggsNice, dual purpose gadget

Pros: + Gives you a use for the USB 3.0 header in cases that don't have a front 3.0 port
+ Metal
+ Nice thick cables with good connectors

Cons: - The front USB ports are slightly crooked toward the sides of the unit, when yo plug something it, the plug is visably crooked in the port.
- Side holes for the lower drive. There is no reason they couldn't have made the bottom drive mount from underneath. A real pain getting those puny screws past the USB port.
- The front center of the face bulges out a little, which doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe they think it looks good, but it might get in the way if your case has a door.
