5 out of 5 eggsVery pleased

Pros: My case wouldn't let me install 2 video cards without blocking too much of the 3.5" drive bays, so I got this to put them up top where DVD drives used to go. It has a really nice air filter that keeps the dust out of my machine and the drives nice and cool. When one of my HDs started to fail, it was the one *outside* of this box. So I just ordered a second one of these :)

Cons: The drives are very close together - although it doesn't seem to be a problem. There's also nothing between the fan and the filter, so when you're changing it you'll have to be careful.

5 out of 5 eggsChange the fan!

Pros: Serves its purpose of using the 5.25" slots for 3.5" drives in a 3:2 ratio.

Cons: The fan lacks a tachometer and uses the old-style disk drive power connector. which isn't compatible with most fan controllers. I cut off the power connector and soldered/heat-shrinked a fan connector but there is no tachometer connection. So I will replace the fan with an 80mm fan with a tachometer.

A little bit of a tight fit on my Lian Li case.

5 out of 5 eggsNice product

Pros: Mostly solid metal construction. The front filter housing is plastic. Filter is very easy to remove. I was able to remove the front filter housing easily since I don't need it.

The HD tray has rubber grommets to help reduce vibration from the fan tray.

Cons: The screws have a terrible design and could easily be stripped, just use more caution with them.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty cool product!

Pros: Fitted my 3.5 HDD and 2.5 SSD, with a separate tray I bought, quite nice.
Air moves very little with the filter on but without it, of course, moves a bit more.
Fan is completely silent .
Easy front access to filter.

Cons: Little difficult to install. Nearly had to force it further back and luckily nothing was damage. I had to shave the sides because it wasn't flush with the blu-ray drive and the Corsair 500r front panel. Maybe I got a product with the dimensions off?

Other Thoughts: Overall, I'm impressed with this product. It took away both hard drive cages on the 500r to allow better airflow. You could probably do a water cooling build since theres a lot of room without the cages.

Would be cool if Newegg allowed customer pictures so other customers know how it would look.

5 out of 5 eggsNice, value adapter

Pros: My motivation was to achieve a 2-to-3 slot adaptation, and the box did it's job for me. I needed room for 5-additional HDDs, so I had to move 3 drives out from the lower mounts, and the Cooling Box provided the required drive slots--actually only a net 1 increase, but that's what I needed.

The fan is quite quiet. I bought a fan controller to slow it down a bit more, but when the controller arrived I just put it up on the shelf unused, not needed. This whole new system is going to be absolutely silent!

The disk drives used to run at 30 degrees Celsius with the system idling, now they are 27.

Cons: Three typical 1.1" high disks is not doable. I'm using one 7mm high SSD on the bottom, and two 0.75" high HDDs above that. Three 3/4" drives would be okay, but three 1.1" means the top one would protrude far above the box.

It's unfortunate that the access mounting holes for the SSD didn't line up, so I could only use screws on one side. Yes, I tried two different adapters with the same result. Even with that, I rate this product quite high since it is otherwise high quality material with excellent construction.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to read all the reviews. They are quite informative.

5 out of 5 eggsbuying another!

Pros: works fine.
super-easy filter access.

Cons: cheap-ish fan is over-kill (spins faster than needed).

Other Thoughts: i got this with the intention of trying it out and possibly buying more -- which i will be doing.

do not mistake this for a high-end accessory with perfect fit/finish. however, at the price this item is well worth the money paid. i have the fan connected to a controller and is it turned WAY down. this makes it very quiet while still providing a breeze for the drives. my favorite thing about this is the easy filter access... sometimes cheap/simple is a winning combo!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Consolidates your SSDs/HDDs to a compact space and provides directed airflow to keep them cool. Fan is virtually silent. Removable dust filter for easy cleaning.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: You know those useless 5.25" bay spaces that just sit there empty in your pc case? This handy little device lets you keep your SSDs/HDDs there, allowing you to free up the space in the lower front portion of your case where uninhibited airflow is important to keep your pc internals cool. This is of particular value if your case has a removable HDD cage in the lower portion. Using this allows you to completely remove that lower HDD cage, thus allowing air to flow more freely from the front of your case to cool your chipset and gpu(s).

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic HDD/SSD Cooling Soultion

Pros: I purchased 3 of these over a year ago, they were not available on Newegg at the time, sorry Newegg.

I used them in three different builds, including my own main system, and after over a year of use I can honestly say this is a great HDD/SSD cooling solution.

1. It's quiet. The stock 80mm fan is not loud at all. However it can also be easily replaced with just about any other 80mm fan.

2. Keeps the dust out. The filter does a great job of keeping the dust off your drives. It's also easy to remove and clean. I do this about once a month on average.

3. Expands your HDD bay capacity. I have a Cooler Master HAF 932 case, 5 hidden bays, so plenty of HDD room. However I do not like to stack my HDD's on top of one and other, I keep them spaced apart for more efficient cooling, so that limits me to 3 bays. I added this Evercool HDD Cooling Box as a way to add more "cooled" capacity.

4. Keeps your drives cooler. I don't like cases that don't have a fan moving air over the HDD cages, like all my other hardware, I like to keep my HDD's as cool as possible. This was the perfect solution for adding expanded, cooled, HDD's to my system.

5. Solid construction. It's well built and does not feel "cheap" in any way. I have opened and closed the door on the box to clean the filter dozens of times, and it still holds strong. The clip has not broken and does not show any signs of weakening on any of the three units.

6. Installs easily with most "tool-less" mounting systems found in many cases.

Overall, it's just a great product that does it's job well.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: My box is currently holding a Western Digital Black 1TB HDD and a Seagate 600 Series 240GB SSD (via an adapter). This is a fantastic solution for both HDD's and SSD's.

I removed the stock fan in my own system and replaced it with an 80mm red LED fan. I only did this to fit with the red LED theme of my Cooler Master HAF 932. So IF the fan was to ever die, or become noisy, it's very simple to replace and just about any 80mm fan will work well in this box.

If you are looking to expand, and cool, the HDD/SSD storage capacity of your case, and you have a couple 5.25 bays available, this is the perfect solution for you. Not only does it do it's job very well, it also looks great in many different cases.

Highly recommended.
