4 out of 5 eggsThey work as indicated

Pros: They work as indicated. come with a plethora of hardware for various setups.

Cons: Doesn't automatically eject the hard drive when you open the door which sucks when you want to do a hot swap. It's a minor detail in the grand scheme of things.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm

Pros: Works well, good construction, door opens easily

Cons: Would have been nice if the SATA cable wasn't built into the device, but rather have it built with a female connector. The cable built in is pretty long though, so even if you have a large case it should reach.

Other Thoughts: Make sure your SATA controller is set to ACHI mode, and
Windows write caching is disabled if you plan on inserting/removing a drive with Windows booted.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Cabling

Pros: 3.5" hard drives fit great.

Cons: The power cables are not protected from the sharp edges of the steel enclosure. Eventually they rub until the shielding fails and they short out and wreck your system.

Other Thoughts: Stay far far away from this. This thing has cost me in replacement parts and headaches.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for a ThinkStation

Pros: Easy to install works exactly as you'd expect from the description and pictures. The front style/holes perfectly matches the ThinkStation it was put in. It looks like it came from the factory. Very quick to swap drives in and out.

Cons: Uses old style power connector but SATA drive connector. An odd mix. Make sure you have an old style available. Super bright, always on, blue light on the front is dumb/pointless. I cut it's wire

Other Thoughts: A nice product that is not so easy to find on the site, but I'm glad I did.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost a Perfect Design

Pros: - Well Made
- Front ventillation holes allow for some hard drive cooling
- Provides hot swap capability in cases without that feature
- Allows for additional hard drive installation in unused 5.25" bays.

Cons: The standard 18" SATA cable is built into the internal dock, so it negates the ability to use multi-lane cables. Not a problem for most, but if your RAID card uses multi-lane cables, look elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: A good upgrade, aside from the SATA cable issue, would be to provide an adapter for 2.5" SSDs.
