This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: I purchased this processor to upgrade my Acer Aspire 5100 and it has worked GREAT!!. I also replaced my 120G hard drive with a 100G Seagate 7200RPM hard drive and 2GB of duel channel ram, I would have to say the speed of the system is almost twice as fast as it used to be. I have lost only about 15 min. of battery time.
Cons: The processor runs hotter than the old one (1.6 X 2). The new processor has never overheated, but I did put a program on the laptop to warn me if overheating was about to take place.

Great Processor

Tech Level Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Great processor at standard speeds even better overclocked.
Cons: Runs very very hot. Average temp about 160f under full load.
Other Thoughts: Okay so I didn't buy this from newegg, but it came with my Acer Ferrari 1000 and after a year of use I love it. I did manage to overclock it from the standard 1800 mhz to 2150mhz stable using ClockGen. I'm curious as to weather or not I can upgrade to the tl-66, a change from 90nm to 65nm. But still, I've never had problems with it.

Pros: Much needed upgrade over my MK-36 single core. Performance difference with this and a second GIG of ram is amazing. Battery lasts alot longer with this CPU.
Cons: Hot. Use a laptop cooler if you have it! Expensive.
Other Thoughts: Purchased mine from another site for $40 :-) SCORE!!

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: This thing is just fast and it works great. For the small wattage increase I got a HUGE performance boost.
Cons: It runs just a tad bit hot, so if you have a laptop cooler use it.
Other Thoughts: Don't rate the processor down for the troubles that you have getting into your laptop. Mine wasn't easy either but it was more than worth the trouble! Also, you really won't notice a large difference unless you're willing to buy a faster hard drive with a higher cache and rpm. (Recommend 16MB cache and 7200rpm. The drives ARE NOT cheap but they're worth the money.) Over your typical standard of 8MB Cache and 5400rpm.
