5 out of 5 eggsFast in MacBook Pro 15"

Pros: 64-Bit Support, 4mb Cache, Core architecture, runs relatively cool, very fast in MacBook Pro 15". Encodes video/audio very fast. OS X Leopard is ridiculously fast on this cpu.

Cons: Pretty expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Intel really hit the nail on the head with the Core architecture. Performance Per Watt is the latest trend in processing technologies, and this CPU is an example of a well made prodcut.

5 out of 5 eggsSpeedy & cool

Pros: Very fast - decodes 1080P H264 & VC1 at full speed (with CoreAVC). Very cool - cooled passively in an atech fabrication case (no fans whatsoever).

Cons: Price... that's about it

Other Thoughts: Excellent choice for a HTPC. Right now only running 32bit stuff, about to try 64bit (will hopefully be slightly faster, but it's fast enough already). Running in a Commell LV-677 mobo w/ 4GB DDR2 & sammy SSD.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent upgrade

Pros: Extremely fast
Bigger Cache
64bit support
Fits in motherboards with the first Core's installed

Cons: Still a little pricey
Not quad-core

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a 1.83Ghz Centrino Core on a E1505. Paired with 2GB DDR2 @ 667mhz. Running Vista Ultimate. DVD Shrink encoding is a lot faster. Could choice if you do a lot of video compression.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Processor .... FAST

Pros: Install it on my Dell E1705 Laptop ... followed the directions on how to dis-assemble the computer to get to the old Core Duo processor ... cleaned the heat sink ... applied Artic Silver 5 like a fellow reviewer recommended ... put my laptop back together and she booted up. Just take your time and follow the instructions.

Cons: Nothing ...

Other Thoughts: Spendy ... but I wanted performance ... read the reviews of the Core 2 Duos and decided to go with this one.

5 out of 5 eggsDrop in replacement.

Pros: Very fast processor, doesn't run too hot, and is a drop in replacement for most laptops which have Core Duo's (Intel 945 Chipset).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Make sure you use some Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste, it's the best stuff out there.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Processor

Pros: 4Meg Cache, Fast CPU

Cons: Possibly the cost, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a core duo 2.0 ghz in an XPS 1210. Took my vista scores from a 2.0 to a 3.4. alot faster in games and such.

Compresses movies faster than a 3.4ghz Pentium D and a 3.8GHZ pentium 4, By a large margin.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this processor

Pros: I have this processor in my 20" iMac, it's outstanding. Upgraded from a PC with a AMD 3200+ 2.2ghz processor that was quite dated. Ran 3D mark and this CPU portion scored about 3 times as my previous CPU. I have had no problems, it is extremely fast. I boot up in seconds.

Cons: None!
