  • newegg New Piledriver microarchitecture Piledriver microarchitecture is the second generation of AMD Bulldozer microarchitecture. The internal core structure has been modified for higher frequencies even without any changes in the manufacturing process. Piledriver has a more precise branch predictor and a larger instruction window with ISA extensions FMA3 and F16C. The execution units acquired an enhanced scheduler and learned to process individual instructions faster, such as integer and floating-point division. And Piledriver microarchitecture delivers higher power efficiency compared with Bulldozer microarchitecture.
  • newegg Unlocked AMD FX processor with 8 Piledriver cores The native 8-core desktop processor delivers unrivaled multitasking and pure core performance with the new Piledriver microarchitecture. 32 nanometer die shrink was designed to reduce leakage for improved efficiency, increased clock rate headroom and better thermals. The AMD unlocked technology offers more headroom for your overclocking (AMD’s product warranty does not cover damage caused by overclocking even when overclocking is enabled via AMD Overdrive software.).
  • newegg AMD Turbo technology The AMD FX Processors come equipped with AMD Turbo CORE Technology, a performance boosting technology that helps increase performance on the applications that need it the most.
  • newegg Amazing instruction capabilities Like Bulldozer, Piledriver has some amazing instruction capabilities. Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) increase parallelism tailored for scientific and 3D applications that use heavy floating point calculations. Floating Point Vector Multiply-Accumulate improves throughput and performance on many vector functions (integer and floating point). Advanced Encryption Standard noticeably increases performance on the latest encryption applications like TrueCrypt and benchmarks like PCMark.
  • newegg AMD Hypertransport technology HyperTransport Technology (HT or HTT) is a high-speed, low latency, point-to-point link which helps reduce the number of buses in a system thus reducing system bottlenecks and enabling today's faster microprocessors to use system memory more efficiently in high-end multiprocessor systems.
  • newegg Integrated DRAM Controller with AMD Memory Optimizer Technology AMD FX Vishera Processor features a high-bandwidth, low-latency integrated memory controller that supports faster and low voltage memories and provides new Pre-Fetcher improvements and direct communications to each core in Dual-Core module (APIC registers in each core).

5 out of 5 eggsAmazingly fast Cpu

Pros: Amazingly fast Cpu for the price, will run anything you throw at it. Easily overclock able but be fair warned you will need more than stock cooling, even the Zalman and Enermax ETS T40 barely kept up

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Overclocked to 4.8 Ghz stable with a Lepa aquachanger 240 water cooler

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Mid-Range Budget Processor

Pros: -Excellent multithreaded performance
-Decent single core performance
-Better than expected gaming performance
-8 logical cores
-Low price (relatively speaking)

Cons: -Runs hot and loud on stock heatsink and fan (30-35°C idle, 55-60°C load)
-High power consumption
-Lags behind equivalent Intel processors in gaming performance (everyone knows that, just included it for clarity)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU for the price

Pros: -Great clock speed
-Easy to overclock
-Very reasonably priced
-Compatible with a huge amount of boards (AM3+ socket)

Cons: -Runs a little hot

Other Thoughts: This is a great processor for the price. It may not outdue a higher-end Intel i5 or i7, but you can't beat it for the price. Most video games don't make use of multiple cores well anyway.

It runs a little hot, but I'm planning on liquid cooling in the near future, which will solve that minor problem. Props to AMD on this one.

5 out of 5 eggsbest bang for ur buck hands down

Pros: For under $200 this thing is amazing. Its fast and stable, nothing intell makes in this price range can come close. I just bought my second copy of this CPU (old one still works great)

Cons: No downside, just the perfect balance of performance and budget.

Other Thoughts: I am an avid gamer running this CPU with the following:
GIGABYTE GTX 980 4GB
GIGABYTE AM3+ 990FX + SB950
WD BLACK SERIES 2TB 7200 RPM - storage
SAMSUNG 250GB SSD - system
HyperX Fury Black Series 8GB DDR3 1600 X2
EVGA SuperNOVA 850W

5 out of 5 eggsGood CPU

Pros: Cost, performance,overclock able

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: For the money, this cpu is a great deal, Replacing a FX8320,
using the 8320 in another build, but a direct comparison, same pc. the 8350 is noticeably faster than the 8320,
does not heat up that much more, on a Zalman 9900 led air cooler, with the 8320 idle was 76f, the 8350 is 78f,
with a typical load the 8320 would heat to 85f, the 8350 to 87f , computer case is the Rosewill Black hawk, with 8 case fans, radeon r9 270x toxic crossfire, zxr sound card
all this on air cooling. Have not overclocked either cpu.
I do not see heating as a problem on this cpu with proper cooling, and not too far from stock cooling.

5 out of 5 eggsExceeds my expectations and beyond

Pros: Slapped a hyper 212 evo on it, replaced all fans with sickleflows and stays at 20 degree celsius when idle or browsing the internet and other small tasks. When playing Battlefield 4 on ultra settings, it never peaks above 49 degrees celsius. It's extremely fast for my requirements of basic MP4 rendering, photoshopping, music production, and gaming. Currently using it at stock speeds of 4.0Ghz. Couldn't be any happier and saved myself some money over the intel chips.

Cons: No cons whatsoever, just keep er cool and all is good!

5 out of 5 eggsStill the best value on the market

Pros: This is the best processor in the Vishera family and still one of the best products AMD has to offer. Mine has been humming along for nearly two and a half years and has yet to encounter something it can't blow out of the water. Overclocks easily to 4.5 GHz and is very stable.

I bought this chip back in 2012 when it first hit the market. It was a great processor then and it continues to be a great processor now. With the right hardware to complement it, this chip can easily run just about any game you can throw at, and well-- with just a single GTX 670, this processor cranks out a solid 120 FPS on even recent titles like Battlefield 4.

Sure, you can spend twice as much for an Intel chip that will perform marginally better, but you very quickly get to the point of diminishing returns with Intel products. On the other hand with AMD you will always get maximum value for your dollar, even with their top end processors.

Cons: It can run a tad hot if you don't pay attention to it. The hottest temp I have recorded on it is 65C, but even that was in a hot room under heavy load after a solid 5 hours of gaming.

Other Thoughts: Seriously, don't skimp on cooling. If you like liquid cooling, slap an H100 (or something comparable) on it and call it a day. If you're me and you prefer air cooling still, you'll need a quality heatsink like the CoolerMaster V8. Get a full-size High Air Flow tower to ensure cool operation. Either way, make sure you can keep this thing cool before you buy it.

5 out of 5 eggsReady for anything

Pros: This CPU completely over prepares you for anything that is out there. Super fast processing that can handle the most demanding software. I recommend investing in a better heat sink than what comes with it just to be safe. I use the hyper 212 evo....it's worth it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'm hungry now

5 out of 5 eggsI love this thing

Pros: I've used AMD products for years, and this thing takes the cake. Not too expensive, tears through everything I throw at it, CPU temp hasn't gone about 40C (although i have 3x120mm fans and a case that's almost all mesh with another 2x120's on the way). CPU fan has stayed nice and quiet

Cons: N/A buddy.

Other Thoughts: <3333
