5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: In an Elitebook 8470 wint an ATI, intel ssd 180, and 4 gig of ram at cl11 installed in 1 chanel, I realized it needed more memory. The number were process 7.2
memory 5.9
graphic 6.6
gaming 6.6
HD 7.9
After upgrade, memory became 7.5

Cons: price

Other Thoughts: The update is apparent as in reality use experience as in number change. I recommend it strongly.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Bang for Your Buck

Pros: Relatively cheap, they're a matched pair, decently low latency.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've got these in a Dell Inspiron 15R (maxed out at 8GB) Core i3, and upgrading from the stock 3GB it was a NOTICEABLE boost in performance. For a small price my low-end i3 performs a lot better. Apps start much quicker and Win7 x64 boots about 10-20 seconds faster.

I usually run Corsair, but very happy with Kingston so far

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome Memory BUT no longer with heatspreaders!

Pros: These are probably one of the best sticks of RAM you can get for your Laptop, i have a ASUS N53SV-EH72 laptop with 4 sticks of these HyperX Memory chips and it has increased my WEI to 7.6 with 16 GB of RAM.

I can finally turn the PageFile off with 16 GB of RAM, everytime i tried to turn it off with 8 GB of RAM it always reverted back to System Managed Size after rebooting.

Cons: I bought 2 of these sticks a while ago, they came just as advertised with Heatspreaders on the sticks. However, i just bought 2 more recently off newegg and now i'm very disappointed to say that they have replaced the Heatspreaders with a HyperX sticker. I did some research about this and apparently Kingston stopped producing the Heatspreaders on these chips because they do not fit well in some laptops.

Also i'm stuck @ 1333 MHz. My laptop does not support Intel XTU to overclock the chips to 1600 MHz. And like many laptops my BIOS does not offer any overclocking options either, hence stuck at 1333 MHz.

Other Thoughts: Newegg should update the picture of this product on their website to the one that they are actually shipping! No more heatspreaders, so post the picture with the HyperX sticker that they are now supplying.

This also goes for the HyperX 1866 MHz chip, apparently they are plug n play so there are no bios tweeks needed for Sandy Bridge systems. But i've heard of people still stuck at 1333 MHz if that's all your CPU supports. Oh yes and No more Gray Heatsink with that chip either, its also been replaced with a sticker.

4 out of 5 eggsFast, but BIOS doesn't always recognize all four DIMMs

Pros: Installed 4 DIMMs, upgraded from 4x2 (8 GB) to 16 GB. Improved the Windows Experience Index on my Dell Precision Mobile M6500 from (as best I can recall, I don't have the old results in front of me) 7.2 to 7.6. For reference, I'm running an Intel i7 920XM (quad core, extreme edition).

Cons: About every second or third reboot, the system only sees two out of the four DIMMs. I doubt it's due to a faulty motherboard as it has been replaced since the memory was installed, and I've reseated the memory numerous times. To be fair, it MAY be that the system just can't handle the memory (though, according to Dell, it can). I'll know more when I receive my Dell Precision M6600 that Dell is sending to replace my M6500. If the problem goes away, I'll certainly update this review and up the rating if possible.

2 out of 5 eggsOn Second RMA

Pros: Heatsinks,

Cons: On second RMA

Other Thoughts: I've tried to use this in my Latitude E6520. First set caused random system lockups, Memtest revealed faulty DIMM's. RMA'd and received a new set. Immediate BSOD's. One stick tested good, but other is bad. I removed the heatsink to see if maybe I was grounding against something, but still faulty in either slot. Time to RMA again

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for the issue you are having. However, the memory you purchased is not the recommended part for your Dell Latitude E6520. Although the specifications appear to be correct, it is not compatible. You may view a complete list of compatible Kingston memory here: http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/Default.aspx?DeviceType=3&Mfr=DEL&Line=Latitude&Model=70349

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works and is quite fast. Heat spreaders are visually appealing and likely protect the RAM chips themselves from static.

I have 2 sets of these for a total of 16GB of ram in my laptop. Was cheaper than the OEM RAM options. OEM wanted about 170% of the price newegg had this set for.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Removing a keyboard to install RAM sucks.

3 out of 5 eggsUnhappy with Toshiba's Bios

Pros: Got my memory from newegg which is supposed to run at 1600 MHZ. Cpu-z is reading it at 665.5 MHZ.

8 Gigs are reading at 7.47 usable. 7.3 on the Windows score.

Cons: Toshiba has NO BIOS UPDATE that will let me change my memory MHZ or change speed timings. So I guess I am stuck with the lower Mhz unless it just adapts to higher speeds under load.

Other Thoughts: This really isn't Neweggs Fault, but is more the Fault of Toshiba for NOT PROVIDING A BIOS UPDATE ON THEIR DOWNLOAD SITE FOR MY PARTICULAR MACHINE.

Laptop is Satellite L755D-S5204 and I bought it at Wal-mart.

Just a suggestion to anyone considering buying a toshiba laptop, that toshiba is TERRIBLE about proving BIOS UPDATES so you can fix your Memory Timings and MHZ SETTINGS!!

5 out of 5 eggsBest Bang for buck for Qosmio x505

Pros: Has increased my gaming performance a bit. Noticed that my memory in Windows Experience gained 2 points from the stock 7.4

Memory went right in without a problem and downgraded to meet system maximum memory mhz settings, just as it is described from the Kingston website under memory specifications.

Best way to go I might add for Toshiba!

Cons: None at this time!

Other Thoughts: Toshiba Satellite Qosmio x505 Q8120x
