1 out of 5 eggsWorks at first but dies quickly

Pros: The price was the main reason for the purchase. If you get one that works for a decent amount of time then it's well worth it.

Decent speed

Cons: Only lasted about a month. I put it in a PC to bring the total memory to 3GB and it worked great at first. About a month later it just stopped working. There were no other hardware changes or anything and the hardware wasn't handled for it to have been damaged. I suspect either I got a bad unit (which doesn't go to say if a large % of them are bad or if I am an edge case) or they are made cheaply enough that a little use caused it to wear out.

Other Thoughts: I wasn't sure it was my memory causing the problems at first, but when my computer started crashing (blue screen of death) I started a typical diagnostic. Ram was the last thing I checked. I turned off quick booting on the motherboard which enables a memory check at boot. It goes through a list a few memory addresses that returned bad values and says its 'reducing memory size' which I would have assumed meant it kind of turned off the memory modules those addresses were in which would enable me to run my computer without problems, just with less available memory. Not the case. I still blue-screened often, just not as frequently.

So anyway, I ended up pulling it out and throwing it away which is exactly what I suggest you do with your money if you're thinking about buying one of these. I can't speak for the rest of the Kingston Memory products but I know personally I will be staying away from them from here on out.

1 out of 5 eggsNo go - not low profile

Pros: Matches model number

Cons: Misleading image on Newegg,s website. What is shown is the low profile height version of the ram. The ram shipped was the full height profile. Same model number for both profile heights of ram.

Other Thoughts: Wish I had read the product reviews more carefully. Other buyers have had the same problem.
