Dramatically increase the performance and extend the lifespan of your existing system with Kingston's SSDNow V+ Series solid-state drive! Targeted for high-level consumers and small and medium businesses, the second-generation Kingston SSDNow V+ Series offers higher performance than its predecessor and supports Windows 7 TRIM functionality, which helps the SSD maintain high performance through the life of the drive. Adding an SSD to a desktop already using a standard hard disk drive is a smart and efficient way to upgrade. Transferring the operating system and applications from the HDD to the SSD allows the SSD to be used as a bootable drive that takes full advantage of the Flash-based technology. The SSD and the HDD then co-exist to drive optimal performance in the upgraded desktop. For notebooks, SSDNow drives are a perfect replacement for hard drives resulting in faster, more reliable performance. Making this change will improve a notebook's efficiency in a wide range of tasks, from booting up to running the most robust operating system and demanding applications. The SSDNow V+ Series drive uses a standard SATA interface but, unlike a regular HDD, SSD is very rugged and built with no moving parts, making it ideal for power users and road warriors who push the limits of their notebooks. Other benefits include reduced power usage, less noise and less heat generation.

Kingston's SSDNow V+ Series offers performance gains and power consumption reductions at a fraction of the cost of a new system. For added peace of mind, they're backed by 24/7 tech support, a three-year warranty and legendary Kingston reliability.

  • newegg SSD Storage Technology Acting without any moving parts, the Kingston SSDNow V+ Series SNVP325-S2/64GB solid-state drive boasts multiple advanced features including zero mechanical noise, faster data rates compared to conventional HDDs, an over 1-million-hour life span, ultra-low power consumption and impressive shock, vibration and extreme temperature resistance. With these breakthrough capabilities, the SSD meets all the demanding requirements for high-performance storage.
  • newegg Windows 7 TRIM Support The Kingston SSDNow V+ Series SNVP325-S2/64GB solid-state drive offers Windows 7 TRIM support, which uses ATA commands to increase the SSD write speeds in Windows 7. It also cuts down on the amount of data to be deleted, increasing the SSD’s lifespan and allowing it to delete garbage data in advance.
  • newegg SATA 3.0 Gb/s Interface The Kingston SSDNow V+ Series SNVP325-S2/64GB solid-state drive features the next-generation SATA II interface supporting up to 3.0 Gb/s data transfer rates, Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and hot-pluggable point-to-point connections for optimum performance, efficiency, convenience and flexibility.

5 out of 5 eggsLastest longer than expected

Pros: This drive lasted a lot longer than I expected based on what I used it for.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: So back in the day I was running a large server with many cheap virtual machines on it. Because customers liked to buy the lowest amount of RAM, it meant that they would start using swap memory and we'd have disk contention issues. So I popped this drive in the server and moved everyone's swap space over and it fixed the disk contention problems, while giving people reasonably fast swap. I thought that I'd end up running the drive down quickly but the disk ended up lasting a few years until I retired that server and as far as I know the disk still works.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD, Bad Rebate Services

Pros: Great SSD. Fast, reliable, easy to install.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Four star because Kingston botched my rebate. For some reason they had a part number for some Kingston RAM which resulted in a $5 rebate instead of a $25 one. I NEVER BOUGHT ANY KINGSTON RAM!! They wouldn't accept any invoices because they said it was too late. B$ MAN!

5 out of 5 eggswow

Pros: Wow, this thing is fast. I installed Windows 7 x64 with SP1 in less than 12 minutes and that is on my 4 year old Toshiba laptop that has an AMD Turion processor. It also boots up now in 35 seconds from power button to desktop and open IE and yes, I have everything installed including virus software (down from 3:55). I have not tested the actual write speeds because I dont really care because it is so much faster than my old drive.

Cons: None yet, still on first week.

Other Thoughts: The install speed was assisted by using a Patriot Rage xt 16GB instead of the DVD so this probably helped a bit too. I preped the usb drive while I was waiting for the SSD to ship from newegg and I was amazed, from Mail box to laptop and windows installed in less than 15 minutes. My work laptop with Guardian Edge encryption software sometimes takes longer than that to boot up. I need one of these at work now.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Put this in my Acer laptop with a duo processor chip and it is now faster to boot up and shut down than my desktop with a quad processor chip...and everything loads and runs much faster, I'm very satisfied

Cons: The size is small but I use my laptop mainly to surf the internet and do some office work, so it works for me....

5 out of 5 eggs7.0 index

Pros: Got it for shellshock! to top it off with the $40 rebate! i'm sure a lot of you guys got this for the same reason. I got a 7.0 index, so awesome for helping the booting. Using this for OS now, and at least it's better then my HDD. I didn't even know if i have a SSD... that's how silent it is xD. 28 gig left after all of the installation and window updates. First SSD also, I don't know how fast other run compare to this.

Cons: I couldn't find a legit place to mount this thing in my haf 932, but it's so light, so it's just dangling from my Kingwin 1000w's strong cable.

Other Thoughts: I don't have the screw that fits for this SSD, so even finding places to mount it, i still don't have the screw to use for it.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Solid SSD

Pros: Fast, no moving parts, cold, not affected by road time (great for laptops and LAN machines!), and good company like Kingston will stand behind their warranty.

Just an FYI Intel is the best in the industry, and they worked side by side with Kingston so they probably have better grasp on the SSD market than an OC? company.

Cons: Like every SSD the price for GB is high (I paid 200 for this very early last year). I also have to say they aren't immune to problems, I had one instance that a sys32 file got corrupt but rolled back to a Ghost image I made the day before (45 minutes of testing, and then wiping before I was up again). I tested the drive with PCWizard and it has no bad blocks so I blame my HDD controller and Windows. It happens...
Also Newegg shipped the Kingston box in a vanilla pouch, I can see that for a DVD but I'd like to see something more substantial for 200 bucks - haha. No damage done, this SSD has a metal housing.

Other Thoughts: This went to my 2.5 ghz quad core desktop, and I do have to say the boot times were great! Now that I've loaded it up with webserver, Skype, Live Messaging, Steam, etc on start up I still have 35 second start up times(~13s BIOS). Had my page file on this SSD for 6 months, this made my FPS a bit better but thought that it was a bad idea since I leave my machine on for a webserver (still swapping data then). I was able to get 210mb read and 160mb writes withouth AHCI turned on. I didn't need it, in fact it slowed down my computer booting.

Just ordered 2x2tb drives for data, 64 gigs is enough for my OS and games, but not if you want to back up all your DVDs to HD.

3 out of 5 eggsNot sure

Pros: Like everybody esle say's ,Its fast, and used only for my OS.
Coumpter rateing in Win/7 64bit 7.1

Cons: It only lasted 2 months then bois would not reconize it. It was dead.

Other Thoughts: Kingston was great. Called tech support and talked to them right away. Sent my drive to them and got one back in 3 days.
Not complaining, I know things happen, but not sure if I want to try to use it again. Nothing worse than to turn you computer on and nothing happens.

4 out of 5 eggsRaid 0

Pros: Very fast, when using a pair in raid 0. My computer is near instant on. Windows 7 installed in under 5 minutes.

Cons: Cost, I wish I could afford 4, not 2.
