5 out of 5 eggsGreat BUY

Pros: LONG LASTING, does the job and does it good.

Cons: NONE - Mine was should have bought the 2GB stick.

Other Thoughts: I bought this in 2008 and last year upgraded the RAM to bigger sticks. Worked when i took it out and placed it in father-in-laws PC and to this day he loves it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM as usual

Pros: Performs as it should.

Cons: Errm, see other thoughts ;^)

Possibly need to improve how they designate part numbers.

Other Thoughts: I was in a rush when I ordered and didn't check current compatibility, but rather just used a 3 to 4 year old part number. I should have checked closer because Kingston's own website revealed a change and the need for a different stick of RAM.

But it all worked out because I have multiple machines so I was able swap out for older RAM on one and use this on the other.

2 out of 5 eggsHigh density pc only

Pros: The memory works great if your computer uses High Density ram (this is not mentioned in any add or parameter) The only way to tell is low density 1G DDR has chips on both sides and high density has chips on only one side. I sent memory back.

Cons: The memory worked great but my computer only recognized one half of the memory because it is high density memory and my motherboard only uses low density ram. This memory is not marked either low or high I had to call Kingston to find out. Newegg should have posted it was high memory and would not work with some motherboards.

Other Thoughts: The Kingston technical rep said the only way to know if LOW density or HIGH density is to call the Maker of the chip!!!

5 out of 5 eggsWow they still make these?

Pros: Had to purchase these for an upgrade and repair of a system that is pretty much obsolete. For 1 GB this ram is pretty much a dinosaur, but for older system it's a welcome change to very low memory for running Windows XP or a very basic Windows 7 machine. Works great no issues and it is a Kingston, very compatible with many PC manufacturers.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If your using this type of ram I think it's time to upgrade your system.

4 out of 5 eggsIt is what it says

Pros: It is value ram just the title it is under says (thats not a bad thing) It perfect for computers like my old Dell Dimention 310 that can not handl ram speed above 533 and can oly handle 2gb of ram any way... two of these sticks and a graphics card later and the old thing can actualy run windows 7 pro.

Cons: although its great for updating/upgrading a old pc, if your doing a new build, you seriously need to get some thing elese, unless your standards are low and you just putting together an office pc.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've always liked Kingston. I bought this same stick 4 years ago and still works flawless. Good price.

Cons: I bought the second stick last week and only 512MB are showing up. Checked the system ratings and it supports the upgrade.

Other Thoughts: Went to crucial memory's websight, their memory tester said my system would support 4Gb. It's been extremely hot and with neweggs 4-7 day shipping I wonder if the temperature had anything to do with it. the package was pretty warm when I got it. Still checking my system for other reasons for this problem.
