Corsair's XMS (Xtreme Memory Speed) memory has long been popular among enthusiasts. Corsair has many such kits, and each is regarded as some of the best available in its category. With 2GB (2 x 1 GB) of memory in dual channel configuration running at 800MHZ speed, this CORSAIR XMS 2GB DDR2 SDRAM System Memory, offers targeted low latencies of 5-5-5-18 at JEDEC standard speeds, overclockable to 4-4-4-12, and it's been certified as “SLI Ready”, giving you some screaming data transfer rates and exquisite renderings.

These modules are made by Corsair using carefully inspected and matched RAMs. Running in dual channel mode, the module provides 12.8GB/s worth of memory bandwidth which happens to be exactly what the dual core Socket AM2 Athlon64 X2/FX processors need. What a coincidence.

This is memory that’ll both overclock and stay cool, thanks to their huge black heatspreaders. This is a great kit for anyone wanting to max out their system’s performance!

Pros: Bought this for myself as a college graduation present. I've since given it to my dad and it still works 7 years later.

Cons: Nothing to complain about.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair is always a win/win choice

Pros: Well, I bought these back on 10/29/2007, and they are STILL going strong!! Although I've had to replace my motherboard once since then though, but these are still running great. And I run my computer, quite literally, 24/7. Only real exception to this, is when I shut it down to be cleaned or replace something in it.

Cons: Corsair memory...and cons..? I don't personally feel that those two words EVER belong in the same sentence, just to be honest..

Other Thoughts: Well, with that above being said, Corsair does sell several different grades of memory. And I feel as long as you make sure to get the right grade for whatever your own intents and purposes are, then you'll not have to buy memory again for a LONNNGGGG WHILE...

3 out of 5 eggsfinally died

Pros: Got this in March of 2008, I reviewed it shortly after with a 5 egg rating, I do not regret that rating.

Cons: 3 weeks ago I started having random BSOD, W7x64, more often under heavy ram usage.
Ran Memtest86, 3 bad chips (1 good chip, which is how I am writing this).
Last ran Memtext 86 about a year and a half ago, and was clear.

Other Thoughts: If you think about it, 5 years of near 24/7 usage is not bad, I thought it was my cpu or RAID controller, but it was the RAM. I have had three HDDs die in that time, so I am quite happy.
I am trying to eek out a bit more life from my LGA775 before upgrading, this just gave me a reason to get 2x2gig chips :)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Still working just as good as when they were purchased around four years ago. Never had a problem out of them running stock speed and timings, and plenty of flexibility if you wanted to overclock.

Cons: Never really ran into any.

Other Thoughts: Corsair has never let me down with their memory, always been stable. I've never had a stick of RAM fail, but when I needed to use their RMA for other products they've always offered good support.

5 out of 5 eggsGot 2 more!

Pros: Works great! Every stick (save for one) has worked great out of the package, and the defective stick was RMA'd without any problems.

Cons: One defective stick out of 6, including the RMAs.

Other Thoughts: I've owned my first 2 sticks for nearly four years now, and I've only now gotten around to purchasing another two to compliment them, and they're all working great. Definitely would buy them again.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality RAM

Pros: - Heat spreaders look great
- RAM has a study design
- Installs easily and was instantly detected without issue

Cons: - Low capacity but you know that going in when you buy it

Other Thoughts: When I bought this RAM about 3 1/2 years ago I couldn't believe the deal I got on it. This product was my first Corsair purchase and I've never regretted going back to them for anything.
