My existing 512MB memory timing is 555-12. Will the corsair above work with 555-18 timing?

The 18 in the tRAS timing should not be noticible, and in some bios configurations can be changed to 12. It is more important to check the CPU and System board manufactures web site to verify, that they do not have any documented issues with this specific memory. The model number may even be listed in one or both of their compatibility tables. If you are installing more than 4GB, you will need a 64bit OS to support it.

Is this memory buffered or unbuffered and is it ECC or non ECC?

unbuffered / non ECC buffered memory is generally only used for servers these do not need to be installed as pairs
