Corsair's Dominator family represents the ultimate in performance technology engineering. And through further extensive and exhaustive in-house testing and qualification for guaranteed reliability and compatibility comes the Dominator GT, the ultimate solution for the ultra enthusiast and overclocker. Corsair Dominator GT only uses highly screened IC’s to guarantee performance and over-clockability. As for cooling, it uses ultra efficient Dual-path Heat Xchange (DHX) cooling technology and optional Airflow Fan to maximize heat transfer. With removable heat sinks, Corsair Dominator memory modules can even be outfitted with additional upcoming accessories with enhanced features.

  • newegg Dominator GT 2 x 4GB Memory Kit Corsair performs rigorous testing and screening on all components to select only the best for Dominator memory modules, such as high frequency and/or low latency capabilities for each IC, maximum interoperability and reliability as a united group. Designed to deliver outstanding performance and compatibility in high performance AMD and Intel dual-channel systems, this Corsair Dominator GT 8GB kit (CMT8GX3M2A2000C9) has been tested to operate at outrageously fast 2000MHz at low latency of 9-10-9-27 and 1.65v, making it ideal for enthusiast and overclocker.
  • newegg Dual-path Heat eXchange Technology Corsair-exclusive Dual-path Heat eXchange (DHX) technology utilizes both conductive and convective cooling paths to effectively remove heat from the memory circuit board for maximized heat dissipation, resulting in enhanced reliability, stability and performance capability even in the most extremely overclocked memory module.
  • newegg AirFlow - Extra Cooling for Extreme Overclocking The Airflow fan unit contains two 60mm tachometer-controlled fans to provide impinging airflow to the memory subsystem. With the moderate RPMs required to provide adequate forced air, the Airflow fan is nearly silent. The fan easily clamps onto most motherboards.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome RAM

Pros: Booted up first try on my Asus Rampage II Extreme, set the speed to 2005 MHz and timing to 9-10-9-27-1N voltage at 1.65 in Bios. Passed memtest and and everything been working perfect since.

Cons: Only 3 sticks for the price as dated as DDR3 is it should be a little cheaper, especially in 4 GB dimms

Other Thoughts: Overall good value, the fan adds a nice touch although it isn't needed.
Can't comment on XMS settings as I set my timings manually.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade

Pros: I purchades this set as an upgrade from my 6 gig Dominator set. It works perfect. Got it running at my 6 Gig settings with no problems. 9-10-9-27-110 1T, @2080 mhz. Needed to lower my Uncore, and give them 1.67 dimm voltage, and all is good.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsDurable

Pros: + Included cooler and headspreaders
+ Great value
+ Holds up at high OC and maintains decent latency.

Cons: - If attaching aftermarket coolers (ie liquid cooling), removing the heatspreaders would be an arduous task.
- Sharp. Careful when pushing them into place, you can cut yourself if you are not careful.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this kit to add to my existing system to replace an DDR3-1600 XMS kit that I had that just wouldn't hold up in some tough OCs. This kit is a great value, passed memtest right out of the box at stock and several different OCs.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet

Pros: Absolutely rock solid. No issues since buying 12/2010. Asus Rampage III Extreme. Been 2 years, and I play a little with ROG. Not much of an O. C.er. Extra cooling come in handy. Need to learn more to get into XMP mode.

Cons: Only problem except price in 2010 is XMP mode. Crashes every time. I have researched but couldn't find compatible settings.

Other Thoughts: Actually I want to buy 12 more gig but already have far to much in this box. 2 XFX 6870 black edition video cards.

5 out of 5 eggsRampage III Extreme Compatible!

Pros: Compatible with my Asus Rampage III motherboard. The Rampage III Extreme is pretty picky about memory (in fact, I think that's an issue with x58 chipsets in general). This wasn't on any HCL for my mobo, and I couldn't find anything conclusive about whether or not this memory would work on google so I just decided to take a chance. The memory works and works quite well.

Cons: Unfortunately this memory is quite affordable for the quality and performance it gives. So for those looking to show off by buying overpriced parts, this probably isn't for you.

Other Thoughts: At first my system wouldn't post... I replaced 12 gigs of memory (but with 6 dimms) with just this memory so I could upgrade to 24GB in the future. At first it seemed this memory wasn't compatible, but what I found is that all 3 red dimm slots need to be populated before the black slots work. I put this new memory into the red slots, and everything worked. Currently, I have this new memory populating the 3 black slots (12GB) and the old memory populating the 3 red slots (6GB) for a total of 18GB.

This quirk with the slots seemed too be consistent to be an actual bug so I checked in the manual and confirmed this is the expected/intended behavior of the board.

I'm not doing anything crazy with this memory, I'm just running it at 1333 mhz with an i7 980x. With that in mind, the memory seems to be perfectly stable with the Rampage III Extreme.

5 out of 5 eggsEwwwwwwwwwwww

Pros: Fast. Really Fast. Really Really Fast. Super Reliable

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: There may be other sticks that are faster now, but they aren't as reliable. I've had zero issues with these babies.

Pros: -Great responsive Ram - @ 2000 MHz-
-Decently priced.
- Good extra fans to go on top
- Ram isn't flimsy - has protection

Cons: None so far - maybe the price for some- but like the old saying goes - you want nice things you pay for it -

Other Thoughts: I will be looking into the future- for 2x 16g - too bad i haven't seen it yet made by Corsair - maybe soon.
