5 out of 5 eggsDDR 500!

Pros: DDR 500! This is about the only game in town for DDR 500. Heat spreaders look nice but had to trim some of the tabs from the top of one to fit under the ZALMAN CNPS7000C CPU cooler.

Cons: Not DDR 600

Other Thoughts: This is basically high quality, overclocked DDR 400. Clocks over 500 require good MB/CPU pairing. Mine is only clocked to 240 (x2=480) due to limitation of my MB/CPU combination. I can easily achieve 250+ (x2) on the memory at stock CPU speeds, but I've got the 3800+X2 Athlon overclocked and the limited settings on my mobo limit my memory clock at my max CPU overclock. A better board would help, but I'm not complaining.

4 out of 5 eggsworks

Pros: Works in my system. Upgraded from 4x512mb to 2x512mb with 2x1gb. So went from 2gb to 3 gb.
Comes with heat spreader.

Cons: I honestly cannot tell a difference from the 2gb that I had to 3gb memory upgrade.

Other Thoughts: Newegg raised the price of the memory and took off the mail in rebate. Maybe if you contact them they might honor the lower price when i purchased it in april of 2010. I will not post the price as they request that we do not post actual prices.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Upgrade or Replacement

Pros: Worked well from start, no DOA. I purchased this kit to replace 4 Crucial Ballistix Tracer 512mb sticks that I have had since 12/2006 and 01/2007. Ran Microsoft memtest on basic and extended and so far so good. I am running at 250mhz currently. You can buy with confidence. Running ASUS A8N32 SLI Deluxe mobo (bios 1409), AMD FX-60 core. Dual OS, XPpro and 7-64bit. Mushkin Forum very helpful for setup.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: One Crucial stick failed this month and Crucial no longer makes this ddr500 anymore. They have offered me an upgrade to next gen. memory but that does not help me with my current setup.

5 out of 5 eggsStill testing but so far so good.

Pros: Seems to work as advertised.
Looks cool.
Prompt Newegg service and shipping.
Reasonable price considering this type of memory is obsolete.

Cons: None other than the Mushkin memory would not post at anything above 400Mhz (stock speed for the A7N8X-E Deluxe) until I changed a setting in the BIOS. I had to change the "By Speed" setting to 100% "synced" setting.

Other Thoughts: I am not really sure why I bought this memory except for the fact that my ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard (socket 462) continues to run great and I wanted to milk another year out of it. I was running 2 x 512mb Crucial Ballistixs and I wanted to upgrade to 2gb of memory. I have a Barton 3200 and the best stable overclock I found was 2.415Ghz running 10.5 x 230Mhz. I always felt these numbers were the limits of the motherboard and CPU however with the Mushkin memory I am currently running 10 x 245 = 2.450 and it seems like it will go higher. I want to run some stability tests at this speed before I try to go higher. I would like to see how far this memory will go above it's rated speed (500Mhz) however I think I will hit the motherboards limits first. Net result is the Mushkin memory is providing me with the best overclocking I have seen with this CPU and motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesomeness

Pros: This memory is the fastest DDR1 that I could find and it works great. To get to 250MHz you do have to overclock your CPU and motherboard, but it works as advertised. To get speeds above stock you need to change the DDR voltage to about 2.7v or 2.8v on my board, but it can handle it.

Currently overclocked my P4 2.6GHz Northwood CPU to 3GHz with the memory clocked at 233MHz (DDR466) and the CPU is at stock voltage. I can get higher overclocks on air cooling by increasing the CPU core voltage, but I already hit my target speed so no need to risk it.

If you plan on getting this make sure it works with your motherboard. You can run at stock speeds at stock voltages, but what is the point in getting overclocking memory if your motherboard can't over clock it? Just do the research before you buy and make sure this is for you.

Cons: DDR466 was the highest I could go without increasing CPU core voltage, but that is a con of my CPU and not a con of the memory.

Other Thoughts: ABit IS-7 (865P, ICH5)
P4 2.6c Northwood 478
2GB Mushkin Redline DDR500 2.7v

Idle CPU Temp. ~32c
Load CPU Temp. ~63c
Idle CPU Temp. ~30c
Load CPU Temp. ~52c
Case Temp. ~30c
Temperature readings do not stay high for long when CPU load drops to 0%. I have Thermal Throttling set to 25% but haven't seen it activate yet...

Memtest86 and Prime95 stable at DDR466 with stock CPU voltage (Air cooled)
Memtest86 and Prime95 stable at DDR500 with slightly increased core voltage (Air cooled).

No doubt the memory could do more, but I'm just not sure about the processor. Don't want to risk killing a good CPU...

5 out of 5 eggsfreakin sweet!

Pros: This ram is perfect!!!!! it does exactly what everyone says... it reads as lower from cpuz and bios didn't auto detect settings, but just a few changes and it holds super stable got it to 2.7v 3328 t1 timings and it screams! Overclocked it to 520 currently and it seriously seems like it could easily go more! And the red chromed heatspreaders... look increadible!!!!

Cons: Not a single thing!

Other Thoughts: I bought the Patriot 3200 ram 2 years ago... now going for the same price as this ram.... i never could get it to get the correct timings or goto t1 without crashing...... if you are making a choice choosy moms choose mushkin!

4 out of 5 eggsGood mem for 939 boards!

Pros: Good solid ram! Does exactly what Mushkin says!

Cons: Just ordered 2 more Gigs and had to RMA them do to 1 bad stick! NewEgg's RMA is the best!

Other Thoughts: I have been running 2G's mem in my Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe for 2 years...at 524 stock timings 1T and 2.75v's. My A64 X2 4200+ (2620Mhz) loves this stuff. Just installed Vista x64 Home Premium and that is why I'm adding 2 more gigs.

5 out of 5 eggsFastest memory for older DDR400 AMD systems

Pros: My system is almost 4 years old and I've been using 1GB (2 x 512MB) of Corsair XMS DDR400 RAM (overclocked to 440MHz). While this was fine in XP, Vista and Win7 really need more memory to work well. After some looking around, this was the fastest RAM I could find (DDR500) in a 2GB size. I had no problems installing it in my ABIT AN8-Fatal1ty motherboard with AMD AlthonX2 4400+ CPU. I was able to overclock the RAM to 540MHz, which is 100Mhz faster than my older RAM. The CPU is overclocked from 2.2Ghz to 2.4Ghz. After 2 weeks of use I've had no problems with it, and Vista is noticeably faster.

Cons: Wish they made 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR500 memory.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to purchase it from NewEgg (since I was buying other items), but got it directly from Mushkin for much less.
