5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Love this company! I like that it is trusted by Google and that shipping was super fast...got it in 2 days and I didn't even have to pay s&h! The price of my item was awesome, too!

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Must be a popular item because the first time I went to buy it, it was out of stock. So happy when it came back.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Ram for old N-Force 3-250 mobo

Cons: Was not double sided ram, but I think it is Crucial who is manufacturing mostly single sided dDimms these days.

3 out of 5 eggsGood RAM, but ...

Pros: Solid RAM for the type it is, memtest86+ likes it. Crucial modules I've had before seems to be good.

Cons: Not fully compatible with older sticks of the same P/N. I bought this to upgrade an older box that already had a stick of Crucial CT6464Z0B in it, and bought this partly to maintain dual-channel memory mode. This new CT6464Z40B runs fine, but only in single-channel mode; it won't dual-channel with the older CT6464Z40B. Now, some of the other numbers on the old stick are different, but who knows what they mean? Not me. I guess I need to buy another stick of this CT6464Z40B and put the old stick of CT6464Z40B on [online auction site that must not be named] or something. Wish I'd known about that.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure this is somehow self-evident to the more alpha geeks among you, but I matched the (more complete) specs I had printed on the old stick to the (less-complete) spec listed on Newegg (less) and still no dual-channel. Thanks to Newegg for the incentive to increase my knowledge of RAM memory modules.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked perfectly in Dell Dimension 4550

Pros: Needed something to upgrade a customer's computer TODAY so couldn't order in the RAM I would have, but picked 2 of these up at a local brick'n'mortar store and they worked perfectly. System recognized and booted right up (after F1 saying the amount of RAM was supposed to be different). HUGE improvement over the stock 256MB, very happy customer. Local price was almost 50% higher, but got them to price match the Egg, so worked out alright for me this time. If my customer hadn't been desparate to get the upgrade done today, I would have ordered from here instead =)

Cons: No cons with the RAM, it worked exactly as hoped. You could maybe call the packaging a con, since you have to cut these open, they're not the easy open clamshell like some. Still good packaging, just annoying to open ;)

Other Thoughts: Worth noting, because I've seen people put it as a con with this particular system elsewhere, the RAM recognizes as PC2700 instead of PC3200. This is NOT a con, or any kind of memory failure. That's what the system actually goes to but this RAM (unlike some modules) works properly at the lower speed. Took 45 minutes on the phone with Dell earlier today to get the clear answer that from what the rep could tell this SHOULD work in the system. Again, worked perfectly in Dell Dimension 4550 (not sure which bus speed). No tools required for installation, other than whatever you use to cut the RAM packaging open.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking in PowerMac G5

Pros: Makes memory-hungry apps like Photoshop and Aperture run quickly. Improves overall speed

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Installed in my Powermac G5, upgrade from the stock 1gb of ram. I got two with a ten dollar rebate on each - you can't go wrong for that price!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks, solid

Pros: In my circle of nerds I've yet to hear of one bad stick of Crucial ram. I stuck this in my aging but rock-solid Abit NF-7M to pair with an earlier version (dual sided memory modules...this new one is one-sided). Oh, by the way, Newegg had this to me within 36 hours with the standard UPS ground shipping. Kick-colon (can't say the a word here?) as always, Newegg.

Cons: None to speak of, I stuck it in and now I have 1GB of ram, no b.s. What else can you ask for?
