Other Thoughts: Ok this thing is FAST!!!!!! As far as an upgrade from HDD to SSD there is no comparison, especially IF great care was NOT taken into consideration on how your HDD was managed. Programs really do BLINK when you open them. I mean literally blink. PC boots up FAST. I'm so use to the long boot-up from windows via HDD (about a minute) from the time i press the power button it feels like i left the PC in sleep state or hybrid / hibernate. Now its barely above 20 secs from pwr button.

But you have to be careful how your rig is set up For space I have always had my data connected via USB 3.0 external drive. That adds about 10 secs. MOST IMPORTANT. Make sure the USB Legacy is OFF/NOT ENABLED. With it on you boot-up times will be just as long as a HDD. I was never one for benchmark test cause we don't really use benchmarks for everyday productivity so i didn't waste time posting the numbers. But Adobe elements and Audacity loads a file so fast you wonder if the entire file was loaded.

Be sure to take your time and really clean your hard drive if you are not going to do a clean install. AHCI, defrag, purge old, temp and deleted files, etc. Use the Data Migration for cloning and Magician for basic optimization. These links were the most complete I found on the web.

The only real negative is the size. Space IS A PREMIUM. So whatever data intensive process you use be sure to move that file off. 256GB goes real fast.

Pros: It's a Samsung, very simple installation. At the time the price per GB for an SSD was good.

Once you find the actual software for the drive, it's one of the better SSD softwares I've used.

Cons: 1. No included software as stated....must find it "on your own" as there are no directions to it within the drive packaging.
2. Not nearly as fast as my Intel Maplecrest SSD.
3. Compared to other SSDs it feel very light and just doesn't give that "feel" of durability. Seems "flimsy" compared to the other SSDs I've installed.

Pros: Fast Speed Read and Write SSD Drive

Cons: Higher price for first time and now price is going down,

Other Thoughts: There isn't much of a difference in performance between the 840 and 840 pro models, but the regular 840 is way cheaper and a much better deal! If you don't have SATA III you can't tell the difference anyway!

Pros: Faster than the old 7200 RPM mechanical drives, quiet.

Cons: Get Disk Read Errors frequently on boot up. Not unique to the 250, the 500 does the same thing. Sometimes comes right up, others I have to go through the CTRL-ALT-DEL once or more times to get it to finally boot Win 7 64 bit (SP1). Once it's up it's very fast and quite stable. Not sure what the issue is, there's darn little help available to diagnose the situation.

Other Thoughts: Might not get this drive again. Not impressed with the weak amount of information on this product.

Pros: Fast, reasonably simple to install. I used Acronos to clone my old drive. I set this up as my program drive with a 750 black for data storage. The computer is an old 775 platform, no Sata III. WEI in IDE mode was 7.3, in AHCI 7.7. Seq read 265, seq write 244, ran read 48815, ran write 35228. Made a very noticeable difference in performance even with data storage on a HDD

Cons: Non so far.

Other Thoughts: I was surprised at how easy it was to switch windows 7 over to AHCI. It took longer to find the instructions than to actually do it. I will definitely pick 1 of these up for my Ivy Bridge build.

Pros: It boots up 15-20 secs faster than my HHD....

Cons: Besides booting faster that is the only thing i seen a improvement in. Nothing else loads any faster.
It detected AHCI for the first month, now it won't.
It has stop detecting SATA interface.....

Other Thoughts: The tech support for this produce is horrible even the ones that are train to handle SSD issues. Also be warn there isn't 24 hour live chat support for SSD only phone support that is M-F 9 a.m - 6 p.m EST. Another i didn't install it incorrectly i called and had a Tech support walk me threw a 4 hour process.

Pros: I bought this hard drive when it was on sale and it has been excellent for the last 3 months. I have reached the advertised read/write speeds. The Data Migration tool was simple enough to copy my OS from one SSD to another.

Cons: None so far

Pros: Great Value with the usual Newegg #1 service.

Cons: none

Pros: Fast, quite, runs great

Cons: Drive cloning software is not included with the package, but is a download. The software only allows the primary drive with the OS to be cloned. It will not clone other drives.
