Pros: Easy install with no complications in a Toshiba A135-S4467.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: My Toshiba had 1g of ram and was very slow running Vista Home. Added 2 2g sticks with great results. Now runs great with no obvious problems.

Pros: Have always preferred Crucial/Micron memory as it has never failed. Brands that have include Samsung, among others esp. generic.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Newegg $39.99 and free shipping. Can't go wrong as caught the sale before the DRAM upswing in price this year.

It's RAM

Pros: It's RAM. RAM is a commodity, and it's expected to be perfect, and the block that I got was. At the time, it was the cheapest option for the specs. I ran Memtest on it and it checked out just fine. I tried to get my computer to thrash itself by opening every significant program on my computer (including a few really big ones, like SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer, and NetBeans), and was only barely able to slow my computer down. I was able to render pictures in SolidWorks Photoview 360 in 8000x4500 resolution (just for fun). This really was a boost to my computer, and at a good price, too.
Cons: All minor. Windows can't see my last Gb of RAM, but that's just because it's 32 bit; I have plenty of RAM without the last Gig.
Also, this didn't speed up my computer that much (I was hoping that going from single channel to double channel would be more of an improvement, not to mention adding more total memory). Turns out, my Lenovo T61 P had underclocked its Intel Core 2 Duo @2.5 GHz processor to 800 MHz to save battery. With that fixed, though, I couldn't be happier with my aging laptop's performance.
Other Thoughts: It's RAM. Expect it to do what it does, and don't expect it to do what it doesn't. If RAM is a bottleneck in your computer, causing you to have to use the Page File a lot, this will be a relatively inexpensive way to speed up your computer. If you want to have the ability to multitask more, this will allow you to have a lot of programs open. If you already have a good chunk of RAM and you want to speed up your computer, sorry, look somewhere else; the speed increase will be small.
