When speed is what you need, reach for this dual channel DDR3 kit from Crucial. The Ballistix series of memory modules is designed for people who work hard and play hard so they can't take time out for data loss, display problems or BSODs.
This DDR3 module has been verified in-system to clock at 8-8-8-24. The black PCB and distinctive heat spreader let everyone know you aren't someone to mess with, assuming that you let them close enough to your rig to see what you have under the hood.

Good stuff!
- Pros: Quality packaging. Great product, free of memory errors of course. (This is Crucial and uses Micron, the best).
Great compatibility, you can be sure your system will run stable at default speeds. Overclocking: Well you are on your own there.
- Cons: - Freaking expensive.
-Would like more detailed instructions. Specially on the XMS and Jedec SPDs from these sticks.
- This set is made for overclockers, and people who understands about making systems,
This is not for the typical standard user, if you buy them and you don't know how to push them to the rated speeds, you'll be waisting your money.
- Other Thoughts: Don't get scared when you first run these sticks. The BIOS shows a SPD (default) of 1066Mhz at 7-7-7-20.
This is for motherboard compatibility precautions. (Smart decision from Crucial).
After that ance one you see that they are running fine, you can take them up to 1600. (but you can achieve that with two sticks on an X48 motherboard).
I'm actually running 4 sticks on a X38 Asus motherboard, and I settled for 1333Mhz at 9-9-9-24. If I make them run higher, you will get your system unstable.
Serious Memory
- Pros: This is some serious memory. Do your homework, if you look at the reviews, this memory is extremely fast and lets you overclock it without issues.
I am running:
QX6850 (Quad Core Extreme Edition)
2GB of this memory
8800GT Palit Video Card
I can't be happier with this memory.
- Cons: $380 at time of my buying... However, it comes with a $75 rebate, so $305 in the long run.
- Other Thoughts: FAST FAST memory! Highly suggested for the serious gamer.
