5 out of 5 eggsfast memory

Pros: Made a noticeable difference in performance. Has worked for me solid for over a yr.

Cons: heatsink has somewhat sharp edges

Other Thoughts: check your motherboard compatibility instead of thinking it is bad RAM. My Gigabyte mobo would not post with these. But worked great with my other mobos.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Did work for some time

Cons: Died in two years, was never quite able to run @ advertised settings of 4-4-4-12 @ 800. Did run correct voltage.

Other Thoughts: Had two, one died after two years.

1 out of 5 eggsFAIL

Pros: The brand name Crucial used to be synonymous with quality in our minds. However, after this fiasco...not so much anymore.

Cons: Purchased 20 of these for use in customer DVR PCs for security cameras. Out of the box, we found 4 failures that were soo bad that the PC would not even boot. After sending them back for replacement, we continued to use the rest...thinking it was a fluke. However, over the next 6 months, we began to have unusual issues with PCs, causing them to crash intermittently or hang. After months of trying to figure out what was happening, and many different RAM tests (that showed no problems), we finally replaced the RAM with a different brand, as the failures were very remniscent of data corruption from bad RAM. Low and Behold, after a RAM replacement and a Windows reload, the PCs work great.

Other Thoughts: Sent most of them back to Crucial to get repairs...but after these issues, we wont even use the RAM that was sent back to us.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Cheap

Cons: I had bought four 1gig sticks. They all worked for about 3 months and I have yet to get all four to work at one time. I have sent all of them back at least 3 times each. They are junk. I have since bought kingston ram and have yet to have a problem in over 6 months.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your time or money.

Pros: Cheap, fast enough, and pretty.

2 out of 5 eggsCrucial dropped the ball

Pros: Shiny

Cons: They SUCK. Period. I gave it two stars only because some of the sticks work occasionally. I figure ONE star means it doesn't work at all, right?

Other Thoughts: Two sticks in my machine for about a year, then one died. I thought "Well, okay, its Cruicial so its just a fluke. I'll replace it." And I bought another pair to fill my slots in addition to the replacement. One DOA, one dead in a week, and the pair I've got limping along in my machine now can't handle the heat for more than a couple of hours. That's with no OC and case fans that move air like a jet engine. Been a Cruicial fan for 10 years but I think somebody was drunk on the job when they came up with this worthless RAM. Run the other way! BTW I've installed a replacement mobo, power supply and HD with fresh Win7 to no avail. It's the memory. It's garbage.

1 out of 5 eggs2 of 4 sticks dead in less than a year

Pros: Was decent, reasonably affordable memory...while it lasted.

Cons: 2 of 4 sticks dead in less than a year, not even worth RMA-ing since this is clearly a substandard product.

Other Thoughts: I bought 4 sticks of this in May 2010 for a cheap HTPC build. One stick died over the summer, and another one died last night. I've been building computers for over 10 years and I've never had a stick of memory go bad on me until now! Very disappointed with this product, and I won't be buying from Crucial again.

I bought this particular product despite there being better deals on the same stuff from other manufacturers, since Crucial is supposed to make respectable products. So much for that!

2 out of 5 eggsCruical RAM Ballistix no more

Pros: Looks great

Cons: I have used Cruical RAM for years and have always been pleased. But all the Ballistix RAM that I used has
went south at one point or other. I had to replaced
the Ballistix RAM in 8 systems so far and I am waiting the rest to go as well. Thats NOT GOOD at all

Other Thoughts: I will use Crucial RAM but no more Ballistix.
