5 out of 5 eggsGood RAM

Pros: This RAM hasn't let me down. Great performance.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: I had two of these kits for a total of 8 GB in an older build based on a Core 2 Quad Q6600 and XFX 680i LT board. That Q6600 build is still in use to this day with 4 GB of this RAM, and the other 4 GB went to a friend who had some failing RAM in his PC. That 4 GB is also still in use to this day.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks great until it doesn't

Pros: When it worked, it worked well.

Cons: Failure rate is way too high on this series of RAM. Looking at the previous reviews, I'm lucky my sticks lasted as long as they did. I bought 4x 2GB dimms (2 4GB kits). One of the dimms in the first kit went bad after two years; Crucial replaced the kit. One of the dimms in the seond kit went bad earlier this week. In response to my RMA request, Crucial just e-mailed me to tell me that they no longer stock this memory for replacement. It's just as well. I like my RAM to last longer than two years!

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't last

Pros: It was cheap when I bought it.

Cons: I've had both sticks for about 2 years. Both sticks have gone bad on me. I have other memory that is older, and has seen more use, yet still work great. These sticks have been faulty for about 8-10 months. I'd say they lasted about 1-1.5 years before finally failing completely.

Other Thoughts: I ran a memtest86 on each stick individually, in each mobo slot. both sticks failed every pass, with more errors than I could count. tested my OCZ ram that I've had for much longer, and no errors. Mobo and other ram not faulty, plus I haven't been getting any more BSOD's since I pulled the Ballistix out.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Hardware, not compatible with ASUS

Pros: Low Cost, and reliable

Cons: Not overly compatible with ASUS hardware.

Other Thoughts: Usually its very reliable hardware, lasts a good amount of time, usually lasts longer than the warranty. Never had to claim warranty on them.

3 out of 5 eggs3 out of 4 ... good

Pros: Recognized right away.. no problem except the initial beeping when I first loaded the 4 sticks (2 x 2gb) x 2 packs..

Took out.. replaced and found 1 stick to just not work with out the system beeping.

Cons: One stick is not working... when used; the system will not load... only beep... beep.... beep

Other Thoughts: Shipping was supposed to be 2 days.... took more like 5 days... little disappointing because NE is usually a lot better than that.

Hoping to have an easy return.... haven't called yet

4 out of 5 eggsGot two years out of it.

Pros: Bought around June 2009, worked flawlessly for almost 2 years. At the time I only paid about $40, so well worth the money.

Cons: Had over heating issues for the last two months, managed to get it to work with extra fans and small tricks, until it finally went kaput.

Other Thoughts: RAM always dies at the most inconvenient times...

4 out of 5 eggsGenerally Pleased

Pros: This is good memory at a reasonable price. The huge pro is crucial, which has terrific customer service.

Cons: I have four modules of this RAM installed on PCs in my office. One of them was causing problems, but Crucial handled the return and replacement in a professional manner and I was very satisfied: bad RAM happens but dealing with it properly is key to keeping my business.

1 out of 5 eggsRandom freezing

Pros: None

Cons: These worked to the point where you could install an OS and work for a little while, then it would either BSOD, freeze, reboot, etc. Tried reinstalling OS several months down the road and it would give errors during the install. Memtest generated several thousand errors after 15 minutes of testing on BOTH sticks, so I didn't even bother with getting replacements. You couldn't pay me to use Crucial memory.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed - two kits, one faulty DIMM in each

Pros: One of the two DIMMs in the kit worked.

Cons: One of the two DIMMs in the kit did not work.

Memtest did not show errors but would continually experience OS errors and crashes with one of the DIMMs installed. Swapped it for the other DIMM in the kit--no errors at all.

RMA'd it and the replacement kit I received had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM with one of the DIMMs. (Tried both sticks in the same slot to make sure it wasn't a problem with the slot on the motherboard.)

Other Thoughts: Been a fan of Crucial RAM for a long time, but now I think I have to try a different brand.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory

Pros: Super fast runs cool. Perfect memory for maxing out a Intel Atom D510.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This memory runs great in a Intel Atom D510. Got Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit up and going in under 20 minutes.
