Since this is really cheap i am wondering if it is reliable? im not sure what kind of ram matter sbut for gaming purposes i need to make sure i get the same bang for buck

I purchased the memory for my HP Phoenix gaming machine and so far it has been very reliable.  I purchased the HP computer about 1 year ago from NewEgg during black friday.  I also purchased the 16GB ram from Crucial for my HP notebook and apple Mac Mini i7.

Does this memory work in Toshiba L655D-S5093 laptop?

Nope, this is only for desktops.  You'll want to search for laptop memory; specifically DDR3 1066MHz RAM.  I believe the laptop has two slots and supports a max of 8GB, so look for an 8GB kit (2x4GB SO-DIMMs). If this is a laptop, then no. You need socket SODIMM memory. Not 240 pin for desktop. Does your machine have PC3-10600E-9 memory support? Quick googling showed me that's the case. If pin-count matches - there should be no problem but you should still refer to the manual  for you machine and check the frequency support.

This memory is for desktop systems, not laptops. It has 240 pins as noted in the description.

Laptops typically use SO-DIMM memory modules which have 204 pins. I'm not familiar with the referenced HP laptop but you can rely on the Crucial memory advisor.
