3 out of 5 eggsLook for another stick

Pros: Great, when it worked....

Cons: After 6 Months the product died on me. Unfortunately it was my only stick of ram in the pc so at the moment I can not use my pc. Would have been nice if my $80.00 purchase lasted more than half a year.

5 out of 5 eggsworks well with my intel E3 workstation: Crucial Ballistix 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLT8G3D1608DT1TX0

Pros: Speed, price, and reliability.

Remember, with ram speed = MHz/latency

so look for the best MHz your motherboard can use, and find the best CAS latency, which should be listed as 4 numbers divided by "-"s. This ram has 8-8-8-24 timings, and has provided excellent performance.

Cons: Didn't magically keep my motherboard from dieing?

Other Thoughts: I'll likely be buying a second pair to fill my workstation up to its 32GB limit, once my motherboard is fixed.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent Ram

Pros: Great price for single slot 8Gb stick with a nice stock speed.

Cons: Obviously not the fastest on the market.

Other Thoughts: I got this in hopes of placing this same stick in the next three slots, currently quite satisfied with the consistency and speed it has provided.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Seated securely
After updating BIOS to run 1600 MHz, it clocks 8-8-8-24
Looks nice in my ASUS Z87 Pro

Cons: Initially reads at 1333 MHz, but is easily changed

Other Thoughts: Reads at 1333 MHz at 9-9-9-24; after updating BIOS to run 1600 MHz, it clocks 8-8-8-24
I plan on picking up a few more in the near future

1 out of 5 eggsthe shipping is too slow

Pros: works well with my computer

5 out of 5 eggsShipped ultra fast!

Pros: Zero issues with this RAM. Easy install and works exactly as described. Works seamlessly with my ga-z87x-ud3h motherboard. Just a bit of tweaking in the bios to enable 1600 support and lower latency. Literally one or two clicks.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Really pleased with the speedy shipping from Newegg.ca.

... Purolator's shipping time was surprisingly fast in this instance as well. My items arrived in London, Ontario all the way from New Jersey in a little less than 48 hours from when the order was placed. I'll definitely order from Newegg in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!!

Pros: Works wonderful, tight timing, low latency. I bought this to replace 2 generic 4gb DDR3 1333 sticks and its noticeably better. My motherboard only has 2 RAM slots so this stick gives me the option of adding more RAM down the road. I also like that the heatsink has a lower profile than a lot of RAM nowadays.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Bought this and have had no regrets.

5 out of 5 eggsSurvived Torture Test

Pros: As the title says it survived a 24 hour duel torture stress test on a gaming rig with 4 fans and a water cooler. Nuff said? Good stuff.

Cons: Very few flaws in operation. Nothing compared to some of the other brands out there.

Other Thoughts: Not a memory expert sorry I can't add more. I can build a PC and have advanced education on the subject but never dove into the specifics of memory. All I know is that it managed to run fine under a few tests that specifically stressed the memory so it would burn hot and hard. Was stable.

5 out of 5 eggsRemarkable RAM at a Reasonable Ransom :~)

Pros: Functioning flawlessly at the as advertised & specified frequencies (1600mhz),voltages (1.5v), and stated latencies (8-8-8-24)(1t). After a 24-Hour Burn-In courtesy of Memtest86+, further testing with SuperPi & 3dMark assured system stability. These run around 5° cooler than the four failing 4GB (advertised 9-9-9-24) Corsair modules they replaced. Moreover, the system is noticeably quicker & the WEI memory benchmark went from 7.4 to 7.8. :~)

Four of these modules (32GB total) are running in a Windows7/Linux CAD / 3D / CS5 / Gaming Workstation;

-Corsair AX1200 PSU
-Gigabyte 990-FXA-UD7 v1.2 MB
-PhenomII X6 1100t / Thermalright Silver Arrow
-Twin XFX 6990s In Crossfire
-1 Corsair Force Series GT 240GB SSD
-4 Western Digital 2TB Caviar Blacks in RAID5
-ASUS Xonar™ DX
-ASUS BW-12B1ST Blu-Ray Writer
-Lian-Li PC-V2120X Case (Expensive, but worth every Penny it costs.)

Cons: Thus far, there are absolutely NO cons to this RAM from Crucial. The big surprise was that the 16GB of Corsair failed in the first place! (CML16GX3M4A1600C9) Although the Phenom in this system runs at a rock-stable 4.4Ghz, the RAM has always been run at stock timings (9-9-9-24) and voltages (1.5v). The RAM was original to the Build & passed all Stress & Benchmark Tests with the rest of the System. As the saying goes - "There's a First Time for Everything!"

Understand that in absolutely no way, shape, or form am I "bashing" Corsair - for over a Decade Corsair has been the "Go-To" brand, First & Foremost, when it comes to RAM (and other Components) for personal Systems or those of my Clients'. In all these Years & Builds this is the ONLY time Corsair's RAM has ever come up short.

Other Thoughts: The local "Brick & Mortar" Store/Mall where I purchased these was completely Sold Out of Crucial's matched sets. (As was Newegg at the Time.) Thus, I purchased four of these 8GB Modules & attentively hand-selected the modules in order to assure that they were of the same PCB batch/chipset & would all function in harmony. (Apologies, Newegg, but I needed replacement RAM ASAP, and even your Steadfast, Staunch & Superb Shipping Department couldn't have helped this time.)

As this Post is being typed, Newegg appears to have most of the Ballistix™ Tactical matched sets back In-Stock

IN SUMMATION:

If You are considering this RAM (or ANY of Crucial's CAS8 Ballistix™ Tactical matched sets) for your build, desist debating & click "ADD TO CART' now! You will not be disappointed. :~)
