Configured OS and Program Files on this SSD and profile data on the HDD, The laptop SCREAMS with this SSD, boot times are incredible, and WEI scores a 7.8 on disk Cons: More expensive than other SSDs, but not so much a con, you get what you pay for. Other Thoughts: More money than other SSDs, but I feel its worth it. I have owned Mushkin and Intel SSDs which are "supposed" to be faster than this one, however this one blows them out of the water in benchmarks and real world performance. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Used Norton Ghost 15.0 to transfer the Windows 7 OS from the original hard drive to the mSATA drive. Crystal Disk Mark 3.0 ratings are: Seq R/W 266.9 / 175.7, 512k R/W 239.3 / 170.9 4k R/W 20.15 / 42.41, 4k QD32 R/W 187.0 / 154.5. Boots up and shuts down in 10-20 sec. Cons: None. Purchased 2 of these: One for my Acer Iconia Tab W500 and another for my MSI GE70. Installed Windows 8 Pro from my Dreamspark Premium account and on both machines it has an 8.1 rating on the Windows Experience Index. So far no problems Cons: No screws included... After installing it to my new Lenovo U410 (in the open mSATA slot), I was able to do a clean install of Win 7 to it in about 10 minutes, saving the 1TB hard drive for storage only. It installed without a hitch and is working wonderfully. Cons: My only tiny complaint is the same as a couple others. Including just one screw that will be used for installing this on a laptop would be nice. Other than that, I just wish there was some more competition to drive the price down for these types of drives. Other Thoughts: Just as a side note, buying this and installing it into the Lenovo u410 has given me a pretty amazing machine for under nine hundred bones. Performance is awesome, build quality is good, and the keyboard and trackpad are about as close as you can come to a MBP experience in the Windows world. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Pros: Not the fastest SSD ever, but pretty darn fast considering it's the size of a SODIMM stick. Price per performance these M4's pretty much blow away anything else on the mSATA market right now, especially when dealing with incompressible data. Hopefully this will encourage much more competition in the mSATA space (I see promos for 2.5 SSDs constantly, but so far never mSATA). CrystalDiskMark 3.0.1 scores: (read/write) Seq: 484.3/201.3 512k: 374.8/200.8 4k: 23.92/46.14 4k-qd32: 251.3/176.9 A fresh Windows 7 install cold boots in about 15 s. 7.9 disk score in WEI. I routinely run out of memory on my computer (stupid Firefox) and hardly notice. Cons: No screws are included despite retail packaging. Seriously the packaging could fit at least two of these SSDs and they can't include one lousy screw? If you're buying for a laptop you'll need to scavenge an M2x3 screw. There's a certain e-bidding site in the Bay area that may sell them. Other Thoughts: I'm using this on a Vostro 3460, which is clearly SATA III. The BIOS doesn't allow booting from the drive but there's a workaround. A lot of lower tier computers might not allow you to boot from the mSATA device. You can get around this by modifying the bootloader on a bootable device (like the HDD) to boot the OS on the mSATA. As long as your computer recognizes the mSATA drive there are ways to circumvent the BIOS and boot an OS from it. 5 out of 6 people found this review helpful. Did you?
