5 out of 5 eggsHAN A. try again...

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT2K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: Low profile.. low voltage.. easily overclocked

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: HAN A. you need to get some help building your PC.. the ram will fit in the Hero VII perfectly fine. I can only assume you don't know how ram installs or maybe you aren't aware it's keyed to go in a certain way? Also the Asus clips that hold in the ram.. only one side folds out.. it's how asus has been doing their boards for a while now. Please knock your Tech Knowledge down to LOW next time.

3 out of 5 eggsWin7 (64) + PT11 (native) + XMP1

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT2K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: Works at advertised speeds.
For Audio guys this RAM works with PT11 + Win7 64bit.
Make sure your motherboard supports 1600mhz @ 1.35v.

Cons: One DIMM is brown, the other is black. Plastic seal on package verifying item I got is used.

I purchased new and not refurbished. Everything is working as advertised but if it had not I wouldn't be happy. This item is clearly either a returned item from a customer on NEWEGG's part or on Crucial's part.

note: I've been buying Crucial RAM since forever. It is the only RAM company I purchase from.

Other Thoughts: Again, the fact one ram stick is brown and the other is black is weird. The plastic packaging doesn't encourage me that the RAM pack sent to me is BRAND NEW.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Sorry to hear you've had any issue. This is very suspect. We suggest contacting Newegg first for a return or exchange but we would be happy to assist as well.

You can contact our support at 1-800-336-8915 in North America or online globally (http://www.crucial.com/help) for assistance.

Regards,
Crucial

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory for price

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT2K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: Great memory for the price. Runs 1.35v at 1640Mhz with cas 8 timings allowing a 4.5Ghz overclock on an 8350 at 1.337V. Runs cool (low voltage) and allows slight (40Mhz) overclock at stock low voltage.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsLow profile, low voltage, low CAS, high potential :)

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT2K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: Low low low on all the critical things, and that can be great for certain users :) Rock solid stability under all the benchmarks and daily use I put them through. I like the yellow color, which accents my black, blue, gray and copper scheme without being overbearing (likely due to the low profile too). Heat spreaders are sturdy and attractive.

Cons: Not as fast in many synthetic (and real-world) benchmarks that emphasize memory bandwidth. Unless, of course, you boost the clock—this RAM has a bit of headroom. Some users will prefer faster clocks to start, and if so get some other sticks.

Other Thoughts: Bought for Crucial warranty and brand, low power draw, XMP 1.3 profile with 8 ms tight timing. Low profile was bonus, but could come in handy in a mini-ITX build (that this RAM may move to eventually). Heat spreaders are glued on to chips, so be careful seating the RAM lest you rip them off. But you don't jam your RAM into the motherboard anyway, do you?

5 out of 5 eggsRock solid, made in US!

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT2K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: Low Voltage (saves a smidge of electricity), decent bandwidth, great timings. Plug and play into Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkII with the profiles loading automatically. Rock solid. Made in the USA!!!

Cons: A few bucks more than some competitors, 'only' pc3 12800 so if you're looking to smash the benchmarks, why aren't you using ddr4 anyways? :)

Other Thoughts: Impressed with this memory, already had the 8gb set (4gb x 2) of this. Didn't realize it was made in the US before I bought that set, big selling point to me - worth a few extra bucks to support 'local'. Intel profiles loaded immediately, ram passes all tests and has been very reliable.

1 out of 5 eggsIncompatible

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT2K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: N/A
since I was not able to get it to work.

Cons: I bought this product for my new rig with ASUS MAXIMUS HERO VII. I verified compatibility issue from Crucial website.

http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/maximus-vii-hero/CT5874770

However, when I equipped this product on HERO VII, DIMM slots' ejector tab did not shut.

Other Thoughts: I really do not have any issue with this product, it probably is a great memory. I am more disappointed in how Crucial for posting false information on their website.

5 out of 5 eggsUltra low profile DDR3

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT2K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: Extremely low profile, extremely low voltage, extremely tight timings. Is so low profile, that it not only easily fits underneath my Noctua NH-D14, I can actually install/uninstall them, without moving the heatsink at all.

Cons: Quite expensive for 1600/12,800GB/s

Other Thoughts: Buy some, before the price goes even higher. DDR3 prices are going up, not down.

5 out of 5 eggsBest memory I've owned

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT2K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: Low profile, cas 8, AND low voltage. I did have an issue with the XMP profiles dropping the memory to 1333 in the bios, but manually setting the memory to 1600 works fine. Stable @ 1.35V. Waiting for a good sale to pick up another pair.

Cons: Price.

5 out of 5 eggsCrucial is the best

This review is from: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT2K8G3D1608ET3LX0

Pros: By far the best PC memory on the market. I've used most of the brands out there and can tell you without a doubt that Crucial delivers performance and quality.

Cons: NONE.

Other Thoughts: It just kills me to see others commenting about purchasing low voltage memory for the power savings or otherwise ranting about the memory not working properly. Please to your research - the memory is low voltage for compatibility with newer design processors. It will not work in systems that were designed for 1.5 volt memory.
