Does this come without its casing?

The one I purchased was just like in the photos. I had to purchase a separate adapter/case in order to clone my drive prior to replacing it.

Anybody know if this would work on a Lenovo Yoga 13?

I purchased the M500-480Gb  SSD for my Samsung, so I'm not sure if it will work with the Lenovo.  Before buying, I called Samsung tech support and the person I spoke with told me to purchase the subject drive and even gave me the part number to order.  The Samsung parts distributor did not have anything larger than a 128SSD and were not very helpful in helping me to get a larger capacity drive, but as I said above the person at Samsung tech support was very helpful and told me to buy it from Newegg.  I would try calling Lenovo tech support.

Will this fit my Dell M4700 Workstation Laptop?

In looking at the specs it certainly looks like it will. mSata is what is implemented in all the Dell Laptops I've owned and used (I currently have a Alienware m17x).

The issue I've had is on some of the Dell laptops getting to the mSata port can be royal pain. In these cases I use a little adaptor the converts mSata to Sata. These cost about $10-15 on Newegg.

Will this work on a desktop computer?

Yes, for example I installed it in a NEW Dell XPS8700 which has the mSATA port built right onto the motherboard. It took all of 3 minutes to put into the machine. BE SURE AND POWER DOWN THE PC FIRST AND UNPLUG ALL POWER. Ground yourself before opening package and ground yourself again before installing. be sure and use the screws provided to secure it into the socket. ENJOY it is going to make startup and execution superfast.

Do you have a tool or usb casing to transfer the data from a similar Mini-SATA drive to another Min-SATA drive?

I did not use an external tool to transfer the data. Not sure if theres anyone on the market who sells the external HD dock ports with that small of a connection. But worth a shot to look.

I'm presently using a 128gb SATA3 drive for my OS & games, with a 1tb HDD for storage, in my desktop, I love the loading performance. I want to buy a larger capacity SSD and reformat. My Gigabyte mother board supports mSATA SSD is there any disadvantages installing a MSATA opposed to a stand alone SSD?

MSATA is just SATA in a different form factor so there really is no disadvantage. I have had this drive installed in my laptop as the primary drive for over a year now and performance has been excellent.

What size pci-e slot does it need?

It uses an Mini-SATA (mSATA) interface slot. This is usually on the motherboard. Check you manual or motherboard specifications to be certain of compatibility. Once installed it works like a regular hard drive (only a lot faster).

I have an Imac 27" 2.93GHz COre i7
will it be fully compatible?

Looking at ifixit, (Assuming you have EMC 2390), your computer uses a 3.5" hard drive.  This is mSATA, so no.  If you want to put an SSD in your iMac, you'd need to get a 2.5" SATA SSD and a 2.5" -> 3.5" bracket.  I'd recommend going to ifixitcom for a nice step-by-step procedure with pictures for replacing the hard drive.  It's not child's play replacing the hard drive in an iMac.

Will this work in mbp 15" retina?

It should work in any system with an mSATA port.  I use it in my Alienware M17 R4 with a pair of 240 SATA3 SSDs in RAID 0.  Performance copying from them to the mSATA is around 400MB/s vs. 1GB/s max on my RAID 0 alone.  Fast?  Hell yes...

Question 10

What would I need in addition to the SSD drive to install it in my Dell Vostro slim tower 220S? I can't remember if the cables are already inside the Dell for the remaining HD bays. I assume I need to buy some kind of caddy or adaptor to fit the bay.

The Vostro 220s does not have an mSata slot. You need the Crucial, or other 2.5" sata drive. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148695 It will connect like any other sata drive.
