Biggest performance improvement of anything I have done
- Pros: This is really fast. Nothing I have ever done, no upgrade or new computer has made such a dramatic difference. I have a 3.2GHz dual core. Boots in 1/2 min. Shutdown is 7 seconds. Photoshop CS4 opens in 2.5 seconds, Bridge opens in 1 sec. If I select a Raw image in bridge, the raw converter has the image in 1 sec, processes it in 1 sec. And I should note that this is with the images on normal HDs. Only the program and swap space are on the SSD. It is very easy to put in the case with the adapter that is included. All you need are cables.
- Cons: It was hell figuring out how to clone my existing HD. I will explain what I did below.
- Other Thoughts: To clone you need to first shrink the existing HD to less than 80GB. My HD was 250GB of which 34G was in use. I used the free EASEUS to shrink the partition. Then I cloned the drive using clonezella. That was a breeze but I didn't realize it because, and here is the tricky part, this drive must be drive one and the old C drive must be removed before you boot off the SSD. It didn't help that I told the bios to boot off the SSD if it wasn't in the first drive slot, it got all messed up. Even having the old drive in with the bios set to boot off the SSD, windows gave crazy errors. Remove the old drive and put the SSD in the first position and it just works. Like I said, once I figured that out, it was a breeze. Hopefully this will help someone else.
BEST THING I'VE EVER BOUGHT
- Pros: I paid a lot for this, but wow, it was worth it.
from the power button to Windows7 desktop in about 30 seconds, and 20 of that is BIOS and post. Application splash screens are a thing of the past because before you release the mouse click the application is open.
- Cons: I've had an E-Rection since installing this drive, it gets more intense the closer I get to the drive.
She's costly and in 6 month's she'll be slashed in half. But unless my mom starts charging me rent, I figured money is no object.
- Other Thoughts: I used the 80gig SSD as my OS and location for whatever game I'm currently playing, have 2tb striped for storage.
Has sticker that says I love my SSD. This is the only sticker that I've ever got with PC parts that I would EVER use.

Sweet Drive
- Pros: It's ridiculously fast, I mean stupid fast I can do a complete viruses scan on the drive in less than 3 minutes that's with AVG running a fast scan. Instant response when an ap is launched. I just plugged it in and bam worked. Boots 7 like no one's business 30 seconds flat from power up, fragmentation is not suppose to be an issue and so far I haven't seen it to be. It makes for a great boot drive.
- Cons: Capacity is all I can say along with the premium cost. I hope their price indeed is slashed in half I'd drop one in the lap top.
- Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom II X4 955
790GX-G65 G.SKILL 8GB DDR3 1600 SDRAM GTX 260 Intel X25-M SSD 80GB Antec Twelve Hundred Black Steel ATX Full Tower Antec CP-850 850W Continuous Power CPX
- Pros: Little bit faster than before
- Cons: a $300 kit, but never come with a power cable
what a shame. the silver case looks very cheap to me (opposite side of the label)
- Other Thoughts: over-rated
ssd and mac mini
- Pros: Fast and reliability.
- Cons: Cost
- Other Thoughts: Intel ssd is best ever.
