Intel Solid-State Drives (Intel SSDs) just got better. The Intel SSD 320 Series offers built-in data protection features, better performance, larger capacities and more value for your money. Built with 25 nanometer (nm) compute-quality Intel NAND Flash Memory, the Intel SSD 320 Series accelerates PC performance where it matters most.

With random read performance up to 39,000 Input/Output Operations per Second (IOPS) and sequential read performance of up to 270 megabytes per second (MB/s), your PC will blaze through the most demanding applications and will handle intense multi-tasking needs. Couple that performance with random writes up to 21,000 IOPS and sequential writes up to 165MB/s to unleash your system.

  • newegg World-Class reliability – better by design The Intel SSD 320 Series features new industry leading, compute-quality Intel 25nm NAND Flash memory manufacturing processes and an advanced architecture that employs 10 parallel NAND flash channels equipped with multi-level cell NAND flash memory. With powerful Native Command Queuing that enables up to 32 concurrent operations, the Intel SSD 320 Series delivers outstanding IOPS and throughput performance that drastically outperform traditional hard disk drives. The Intel SSD 320 Series also features low write amplification and a unique wear-leveling design for higher reliability; meaning Intel SSDs not only perform better, they last longer.
  • newegg Superior built-in data protection features The Intel SSD 320 Series contains built-in features to protect your data from external threats and internal system snags. Pre-configured Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 128-bit encryption capabilities give you peace of mind that your personal data is secured by advanced encryption technologies in the event of theft or loss of your computer. Additionally, two new data protection features guard your data from an unexpected system power loss or a faulty NAND array.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Budget SSD

Pros: *Cheap. Other "reviewer" that bashed it, did report newegg had the price of $100 on this. Although some auction sites , you can get this specific drive for $0.50 p/ GB (so $80).

*Speeds are right on. Advertised 270/165MBs-, and I am getting 252.6/169MBs- and that is doing a 1GB transfer, while OS is running, and when the drive already is 40% full using CrystalDiskMark 3.0.2. (Not like I have to use some special software, etc)

*Very low power. I used this in my laptop to expect a 30min or less change, but I am getting 40min better battery life. See other notes.

Cons: *SSDs are not a nickle a gb yet, but I cant wait to live in the past, so..

Other Thoughts: *To the person that leaves a random comment, why? You diss a product from 5 stars to 3 by giving it one review, and you never even purchased it. Yes two months may be a little, but the odds are, either they updated the posting since they had an old batch to get rid of, people started some scam, or just because there is no reason for drives to simply die.

*You have to understand, SSD's do not really make computers faster, but more the seek times and loading times. But yes that is the point of the drive. -But it is not like level in a game is going to play smoother given your not using a WD250MB along with a 486 cpu, but it will simply load the next layer/chapter/map/game entirely, etc faster. If you care so much, just make a ramdisk with any ram (as 1333mhz ram = 5332MBs transfer rate).

*My laptop before was getting about 3 hours on battery with power saver on W7 x64, and a dim screen setting. I firstly swapped out ram (had 2x 2GB dimms) and changed it to 1x 4GB dimm. Which I figure would save me under the range of 0.5-1.5W and my reg 5400 drive spec sheet reads 1.5W active. The numbers would suggest I save 2.5W hour, but I know that after these changes, I am not getting 4-5 hours on the regular old battery that came with my used laptop.. And yes I plan on buying the extended battery to try to see how much I can get this to actually last (not just advertised speeds).

*Also going on the idea of parts do not die, others would like to disagree, but there is always going to be a reason. Given I do not statically shock my drive, SSDlife reports this drive should last at current speeds until 2022.. But I never buy my drives in batches, to prevent my raid from dying in batches, nor do I sweep near my server or anything else that people never think about and then complain when their drives die all of a sudden.

1 out of 5 eggsare you serious?

Pros: Under 100 for 160 gigs.

Cons: 90 day warranty for an SSD!?!?

Other Thoughts: As much as I would love a 160 for so little, I feel safer taking my 100 bucks to the casino.
I will settle for a 120 with at least a 2 year warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic SSD

Pros: fast as and SSD should be. Bought this for a laptop but the laptop was having more than harddrive problems. I'll just add this SSD to the new laptop when purchased.

Cons: none
