5 out of 5 eggsSpeed Demonstrated

Pros: Extremely fast read and write speeds. Only took about 15 minutes to install Windows 8.1. Startup takes about 15 seconds and shut down only takes 5 seconds.

Cons: Extremely plain and ugly to look at.

5 out of 5 eggsRun great...

Pros: Solid product for a good price.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Installed this in a brand new Mid 2012 Macbook Pro.

Start up and shut down times are extremely fast.

I've purchased several Toshiba SSD's so far and have been very happy with their quality.

1 out of 5 eggsToshiba Q Pro

Pros: read speeds are super fast

Cons: write speed suck raw eggs that have been left in the sun for a week.

Other Thoughts: I started out with an evga X58 board, took over an hour to install windows 7 64, then the updating of windows was so slow I simply had to stop it. bought a new z87 evga board, windows loaded fine, but write speeds are still really slow when i do the ATTO bench32.exe program, like 5792 for .5 write which my old ocz sata II gives like 15399 for that same write. once it gets into the bigger files it writes fast but overall very disappointed with this drive. AND, getting in touch with tech support is a run-a-around from hell with Toshiba

5 out of 5 eggsBest Bang for the Buck

Pros: This is a MLC SSD - which means it is better than the TLC SSDs like Samsung 840 EVO and 840. Sequential read and write are as reported - almost maxing out SATA 3 bandwidth.

This drive also uses less power than the Samsung 840 PRO but gets about the same but a bit less performance.

I bought it for 146, which made this a EXCELLENT deal. Overall drive is great too! You can't tell the difference between samsung pro and this.

Cons: 3 yr warranty - doesnt really matter

5 out of 5 eggsSo far So good

Pros: Its fast, as expected for an SSD installed it with a fresh copy of WIndows 7 and have had no problems with it for the month that I have owned it for.

Cons: No cons for the SSD itself so far though.

Other Thoughts: My only gripe is that it doesnt come with with a SATA cable so be advised if you're ordering one to pick one one up along with it or make sure you have one lying around.

1 out of 5 eggs2 crashes

Pros: SSD low price -

Cons: crashed twice in 30 days. 5 attempts to restore using WHS failed. Disk manager shows 240GB drive. File explorer shows 125GB drive. Miserable endurance!

Other Thoughts: Own Intel, Sandisk & Samsung SSDs. Never have experienced so much trouble as with this Toshiba. As Sandisk & Toshiba jointly own fab, I expected far better.

5 out of 5 eggsTook a chance...

Pros: Low price, great performance, easy install with spacer, big name with good reputation, nice work with optimizing the top secret controller! A couple of months of steady use by a teacher and a college student for games, lesson plans, you name it and they are still running and performing great! They are a tremendous value thus far. Great packaging too! A small solid box with a firm one piece air pillow encasing the drive which was, as expected, inside an anti-static bag.

Cons: Finding information about these drives is very difficult. Toshiba tech support was even clueless about these drives while helping me find the cloning software that the documentation states comes with the drive. See "Other Thoughts."

Other Thoughts: By gosh, that young man at Toshiba Tech Support wasn't going to stop until he resolved the issue and resolve it he did! It turns out the cloning software is a free download at the software maker's site. This software comes preloaded on Toshiba HHDs and installs when the drive is first activated (according to Tech Sup). Toshiba's SSD pcb has an unused spot for a DRAM chip that is usually used for caching. Reviewer speculation is the caching is built into the controller. Of the few professional reviews I was able to find, the performance of this drive and the torture tests indicating dependability was right up there with the rest of the big names. What is lacking with it's no-bling look and top secret technical information is more than makes up for with value and performance. I am thinking two more may be a nice addition to each computer

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive! Great value!

Pros: I purchased this drive several weeks back when Newegg had it on special for around $140 or so and do not regret it at all. This is a very nice drive for the money, as quite fast, appears to be made from quality components, and is overall an excellent value. I wouldn't look at any other drive if you are wanting a great drive at a great price. Toshiba controls the manufacturing from start to finish and I am sure they wouldn't release a faulty product. The toggle NAND is fast and doesn't leave much to be desired. Sure, there are faster drives but they aren't much faster and you really pay for this small incremental difference. This is also a slim drive which allows it to fit into netbooks and other applications that require a 7mm thick or less drive. I have one netbook where this is a concern but feel this will become a new industry standard in the future. I also like the fact that it still uses the traditional MLC instead of TLC NAND flash for both longevity and performance reasons.

Cons: Sure, they make faster SSDs but they difference isn't going to be noticeable under most uses. The packaging and the drive itself are very plain Jane but this doesn't really matter when it is inside your system and you cannot even see it.

Other Thoughts: If you can get this drive on sale, you won't find a better budget SSD. I am very pleased with the performance of this unit and really don't consider it a sacrifice over a higher priced but faster drive. The incremental increase in performance is simply not worth the price. Toshiba also controls manufacturing from start to finish. This includes everything from the NAND memory to the controller. Like Samsung, they are not going to put out junk. Some of the lower-end Samsung drives use triple layer or TLC NAND flash. This uses the more traditional MLC or two layer which is both faster and longer lasting.

5 out of 5 eggsfast

Pros: fast running on sata ii p35 board. outbenches other computers, even sometimes.

Cons: newegg shipping. usps delivered, bubble bags on bottom, box on top, shut lid.

Other Thoughts: get good speeds. got this before it jumped up in price, some here. i some reason out run some other ssds with slower other speeds, but compared, im running 260 240 somewhere around there, sata ii.
