Good ram
- Pros: Can't beat this ram for the price.
- Cons: None at all.
You get what you pay
- Pros: Cheap after rebate and work without problem so far.
- Cons: This memory is not a real PC2-6400. RAM timing is 5-5-5-15-20 at 667MHz like other PC2-5300 and 6-6-6-18-24 at 800MHz which is very slower timing than other memories'.
- Other Thoughts: Good product until you realize what is the RAM timing. The manufacturer might be Samsung according to the SPD data, M3 78T5663QZ3-CF7.
Defective, only realized at 32 days...
- Pros: Cheap.
- Cons: I started getting very odd compilation errors on linux, internal segfaults, all at random times. I suspected heat issues but that wasn't it. Only then did I realize that I had apparently skipped a step on this system build and never ran memtest. When I did so, BOY, this thing was just a nightmare. Of course, this was at 32 days post-purchase, so that's the purchase price down the drain...
- Other Thoughts: ALWAYS run memtest the day you get it... This is SOP for me, but I somehow missed it on this system I guess, unless somehow the thing actually started going defective post-install.
