4 out of 5 eggsExcellent memory for laptop

Pros: 5 star performance

Cons: Package says code for a free movie download, but found non. This is a brand new package, never opened. Deduct one eye for false advertisement!

2 out of 5 eggsPoor service from PNY

Pros: Good price.
1 of 2 sticks works great.

Cons: Purchased two sticks. One failed within a year but after Newegg's return period. I went to PNY's website and filled out the RMA request. I received an automated email requesting a copy of the receipt and my info. I sent the information and never got a response or RMA number.
Poor rating is for PNY's service.

1 out of 5 eggsFails memory test on MacBook Pro 2.53GHz i5

Pros: Price

Cons: Can't run both new sticks because it fails the memory test on startup. You can put in one new stick with a previous stick and it will boot, but that's not the solution I'm looking for. Did some research: This is down to a limitation in some memory controllers and how they handle memory sticks with different memory characteristics (also add into the fact that you have no control over these settings in EFI as you might have in a non-EFI BIOS)

When you put both new sticks in, the memory controller is trying to set up the memory according to the specs advised by the PNY SODIMMs, however it is having problems with that configuration and fails to initialise the memory.

When you put in a stick of the older RAM, it changes the configuration to use the slower RAM's settings and the second stick of RAM is actually running at the slower speeds and timings of the old RAM and these are invariably "slower" and more conservative than those the PNY sticks can run at.

So, these will be going b

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if the product description listed compatible hardware.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Just Fine

Pros: Worked really well on my ASPIRE 5755G. Didn't have to do anything, just snap in and recognizes it right way. I also uses the 2Gb that came with the notebook, so make it 6Gb total. The WEI (win. exp. index) went from 5.9 to 7.1, that is great just adding 4Gb of PNY memory.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I am not a game person, but on pic editing side, it improves a lot. I would recommend it.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work with Mac

Pros: Was the cheapest at the time I bought it.

Cons: Can't for the life of it run stable in dual channel mode on a 13in 2009 MacBook Pro. Both sticks work fine separately and pass mem-test with flying colors but when you put 2 in the computer will just randomly kernel panic a lot.
So I decided to run with one 4GB sticks and my old 2GB Crucial stick for a few months and just cut my losses but then that 4GB stick ended up failing. I could no longer boot the computer up with it in.
So needless to say I am back to two 2GB Crucial sticks and wouldn't recommend these for any Mac users.

1 out of 5 eggs2 Bought, 2 Failed

Pros: Cheap after rebate (at the time).

Cons: One failed within 30 days, RMA'd to Newegg. Second failed 6 months later, now being RMA'd through PNY.

Other Thoughts: Likely first and last experience with PNY.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Made a big difference in the performance of my EeePC 1215T. Worth $30 for the improvement.
