1 out of 5 eggsFAIL

Pros: Very easy to install in eee 900.

Cons: Wasted 8 hours pounding on install attempts, then I had to conclude it was defective.

Other Thoughts: Newegg let me down big time here. 30 days is way, way too limiting of an RMA window with tech gear. You know how it goes, it can take a week just to get around to upgrade work. Then if it doesn't go well, you have to schedule more time and get back to it later. By the time you conclude there's nothing more you can do, they've shut the window on you.

This punishes most those who are least likely to do a frivolous return.

Don't be stupid, Newegg. Algorithmic return policies are counter productive!

3 out of 5 eggsToo big - beware

Pros: Was going to have it as OS drive for home NAS 32 GB could have Linux (NAS) and Windows (MediaCenter)partitions for dual boot

Cons: This card is TOO big. Regular size is 3cm X 5cm, half size even smaller, but this one is 3cm X 7cm and it doesn't fit anywhere .... except:
"EeePC 900,901,903,905,1000 series" - quote from back of the package.
Newegg, please put card size into item description.

Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks :-)

1 out of 5 eggsNot Really Mini PCIe

Pros: supposedly works with eeepcs

DO NOT BUY unless you are upgrading an EEEPC.

Cons: I bought this since it said it was a Mini PCIe, i had no idea that the (PATA) after the PCIe meant that this is not a standard Mini-PCIe form factor, it is ~20 mm too long to fit in a standard Mini-PCIe socket.

Which means that it is only useful to upgrade an EEEPC, since they use this non-standard socket.

No where on the product page does it say its dimensions, though they are printed on the packaging.

The description should be made clearer, that this ONLY works for the EEEPCs, and list its non-standard form factor.

Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY unless you are upgrading an EEEPC.

You cannot return this item, so if you bought it assuming it would work in any MiniPCIe slot you are out of luck.

I think this is a shady listing and NewEgg should fix it immediately, or remove it.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works!

Pros: It works fine in a Asus EEE 901. Only took about 5 minutes to install. Four screws out and back that's it. Replaces the 8 gig secondary. Machine had no problems recognizing the new drive and the increased size. Read and write speeds seem much better. Boots faster. Obviously I have way more storage now.

Cons: None that I've found.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to fix the 901 issues with trying to maintain an OS in the original 4 gig primary. The factory 4 gig was faster than the 8 gig secondary it shipped with so ASUS put the OS there. XP barely fit to start with and the patches plus a little software soon pushed me over the size limit. Ubuntu was faster and took a little less space, but adding drivers and such filled it up too. This solution was much simpler than replacing the 4 gig primary which required tearing the whole machine apart. Once I replaced the 8 gig secondary I reinstalled the OS (Ubuntu 10 Netbook Edition) to the new secondary and set the BIOS to boot from there. This drive is much faster than the original secondary and primary so it makes sense to put the OS on it. Now I have nearly unlimited space for patches and other OS upgrades and plenty of room for software. Performance is noticeably better too! I'm using the original 4 gig primary as extra storage now.

5 out of 5 eggsBigger Than 16GB...

Pros: -lightning quick
-low power consumption

Cons: -costs half as much as my entire netbook

Other Thoughts: I used this to upgrade my ASUS Eee PC 701SD, a very bare-bones laptop that has barely enough space on the included Samsung SSD to run Windows XP. With this RiDATA upgrade, I was able to install Windows 7 and it runs quite smoothly. SSDs are still expensive and low-capacity, but that is to be expected with new technology. The read/write speeds you get with these things are incredible and they don't kill your battery, so the benefits certainly outweigh the cost.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: I bought this for my wifes Eee PC 900A - It works great - install is very simple - data transfer rates seem much faster than the stock 4gb drive that came in this system. Although Im used to much larger drives it still has a great deal of free space after installing XP, all the updates, AV, Firewall, and some misc apps.
Recomended to anyone upgrading the SSD from the original 4 or 16GB versions on their ASUS Eee PC......

Cons: None - other than these still have a pretty high price since they are still a pretty new item.

Other Thoughts: High Recomend on this product.....

5 out of 5 eggsIt works!

Pros: Installs as advertised! Total of 2 minutes to install (1.5 minutes to find my screwdriver set) and machine booted without argument! Installed Windows 7 and this ASUS eeePC 900 is an ANIMAL!

Cons: None yet! Still can't believe such a smooth transition!

Other Thoughts: eeePC 900, 2GB Ram, 32GB RiData Primary Boot, Windows 7, MS Office 2003 and latest Blackberry Desktop Manager . . . this thing rocks!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a champ!

Pros: 2 minutes to install (only because it took 1.5 minutes to find my screw driver set). Booted first time without hessitation!
This drive and a 2GB memory module has actually turned my eeePC 900 into an animal!

Cons: Nothing to complain about!

Other Thoughts: Maybe RiData has a 64GB model in the wings?

3 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with 900A

Pros: Don't know.

Cons: Doesn't work with Asus Eee PC 900A. This specific model is not listed as being supported in their documentation either. If you try to install it, it will show up as a 16MB drive in the BIOS.
