Booting up platforms that run Windows 7 happens in less than 20 seconds, a 40% performance improvement compared to traditional hard drives. It’s the perfect device for corporate-level computing applications as well as power users who seek super speed.

  • newegg SSD Storage Technology Unlike traditional hard disk drives, SSDs have no moving parts, resulting in a quiet, cool, highly reliable storage solution that also offers faster application loading and system responsiveness. And for laptops and netbooks, the lower power needs of SSDs translate to extended battery life. Higher performance with more durability means you can be truly mobile with confidence.
  • newegg A Major Upgrade in Performance Equipped with the latest SandForce SF-1222 processor, ADATA's S599 Solid State Drive delivers remarkable performance. It offers a 280 MB/s read speed and 270 MB/s write speed at maximum. The S599 SSD achieved up to 50,000 IOPS in IOmeter tests, a performance unrivaled by similar products.
  • newegg Solid performance with ECC function, static wear-leveling & Trim support The S599 SSD features a built-in ECC function that supports error reporting, automatic error detection and correction. Integrity and safety of user data stored on the S599 SSD is excellent. The S599's static wear-leveling technology can average out the write cycles on each cell over time, thereby eliminating frequent writes to the same flash cell and extending its serviceable lifespan. The S599 SSD also supports the Trim command featured in Windows 7, enhancing the SSD write performance.
  • newegg Intelligent Thermal Watchdog Keeps you cool Other than remarkable performance, ADATA S599 SSD consumes much less energy and stays cooler in operation than conventional hard drives. Its built-in temperature sensor IC automatically reports real-time temperature to the system monitor program, allowing you to keep an eye on the status. The system stability is in your control all the time.

Pros: Was one of the cheaper drives at the time

Cons: 3.5" Drive adapter is offset incorrectly, so it doesn't fit.
Drive died, slowly creating I/O errors, verifiable on 4 computers with Linux and Windows, sent it in, they said they ran checkdisk and updated the firmware fine and sent it back, drive worked for about 4 hours before more I/O errors, now won't even be recognized by any BIOS or UEFI at boot. Sent video evidence, they refuse to honor their warranty.

Looks like I'm not alone.

Luckily we are using about 20 drives from the major brand names that we've been testing, adata has officially been crossed off the list for deployment candidates.

Other Thoughts: Source: Professional that specializes in hardware with 10 years experience

2 out of 5 eggsLasted for a while

Pros: Fast, cool, low power consumption.

Cons: Just doesn't last.
Died after 15 months of low use.

Other Thoughts: I had issues with this drive being picked up in the BIOS from the beginning. Neither ADATA or my PC manufacturer could help with this issue. At about 12 months of use I started getting BSOD about twice a month. At 15 months the drive is simple unrecognizable by any system. I have the S599 installed in a Asus U43JC. I ran this system, on average, 2 hours per day.

In comparison, the OCZ, which I installed in my workstation, has ran almost continuously for 20 months.

Pros: Worked for a short time failing and a long time without dying. The other one still works.

Cons: One of these drives failed on me as well. It started failing early on completely sporradically, about once every two months or so. Then this week it just died and did not want to come back up. Plugging from SATA port to SATA port has provided some activity, but only enough to maybe move some files before it dies again. Had this RAID'ed up with another one. Now I have to ditch them both because this is an obviously poorly made product by my experience and those other comments left above.

Only pro is the other drive still works fine. Lot of good that does me, however.

5 out of 5 eggsStill blazing fast!

Pros: Bought this ssd December 2010. Its been nothing but great since. Yes it took a while for them to release a firmware update but overall im really happy with this purchase. From the time I hit my power button to when windows 7 ultimate is fully loaded and useable is 29 seconds. Its so amazing.

Cons: None of my other drives can keep up! :l

Other Thoughts: Write now this drive is only $65 that is only about $1 per gigabyte. That is really good seeing I paid $100 for mine. I say jump on it. Yes some people get DOA drives but hey no company is perfect. Yes the fail rate could be lower but you wont be dissapointed.

Pros: Price
Mounting Kit
SataI speed

Cons: Sandforce
ADATA CS

Other Thoughts: This drive has repeatedly failed on me. It will now longer boot (yes I understand what AHCI is)

ADATA Tech support has also repeatedly ignored my voice mail messages and emails.

I really hope they dont put the CYA comment on this post.

M4's are on model year clearance, get one of those instead.

1 out of 5 eggsNo RMA Response

Pros: NONE

Cons: Worked for several months, then just died...sometimes it shows up for a few seconds, but not long enough to read anything off drive. I know that it probably just needs a firmware update, but it's not possible to do when ADATA's own firmware upgrade tool won't see the drive. SHAME ON YOU ADATA for selling a known defective drive to people and not offering any easy way to contact you to resolve problems.

Other Thoughts: I called the support # given in other posts here over 10 times, but nobody ever answers. I left messages every time and have not received any reply. ADATA is a JOKE. Buy something else! SHAME ON YOU ADATA for selling a known defective and incomplete drive to people and not offering any easy way to contact you to resolve problems.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Impressed, 1 year later still going strong

Pros: Awesome speeds out of these drives. I have two of them currently in a stripped configuration for my gaming rig (OS/Game files only)

Cold boots up in about 30 seconds to a usable desktop, very happy, though wish the price would drop so I could add two more for a 4 drive stripe :D

Cons: Price on these has dropped from $109 to $104 since I bought them a year ago, been waiting for them to drop more substantially so I could pick up a couple more.

Pros: Faster than HD, but not RAID 5 array

Cons: Has had problems in the past, but today it blue screened and cannot be found in bios. Also does not work in external enclosure.

Other Thoughts: 20$/month to use this drive, then you lose all your data.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: I've had 2 of these in RAID 0 for my system drive for 5 months and have not had any issues mentioned by others. The drives are extremely fast and it even comes with a mount if your case does not have a 2.5" slot.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: None.

3 out of 5 eggsfast but dead

Pros: Fast drive. Used 2 in raid and was extremely fast.

Cons: one of my raid ssd's died within a month. so i lost all my data. replaced it and now 9 months later the other drive is failing. NOT HAPPY ADATA!!! horrible quality control. I am mad as now, i have to be without a working PC to RMA yet another ssd. wouldnt be so bad if they had advanced options for RMA.
