4 out of 5 eggs3 years and running

Pros: Works like a charm.

Cons: Doesn't seem to like my overclock attempts. Anything over 800MHz results in crashes. The rest of my system handles FSB higher than 400 but I suppose this is a comfortable stop on this system.

Other Thoughts: What can I say? RAM is RAM. Very rarely will FSB exceed your RAM clock.

5 out of 5 eggsStill Great Ram

Pros: I bought two sticks of this stuff way back in 3/12/2008. I bought another two just last week. Llike the old pair, they slid right in and worked with no headaches. I'm running them @ 800mhz~ 4-4-4-12 but way below the recommended voltage. My old pair would go up to 950mhz and be completely stable at 4-4-4-12. It's the same with the new ones. All this being said, rock-solid reliability and a long lifetime. (And I've traveled with this box a lot, sometimes using it in stupid-high temps).

Fantastic buy.

Cons: They are no longer priced as ridiculously low as they were. I could get the old pair to 1000mhz but no higher with only adjusting the voltage options. (It would post at 1050mhz but OS operation was not possible (for long)). I have not tried the new pair but I suspect similar performance.

Other Thoughts: My old desktop system: Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3.2Ghz. EVGA nforce 680i.

With this system, running the ram link/synced at default speeds with the FSB double-clocked is the best performance option.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks!

Pros: Works, and is faster than my old ram.

Cons: A friend ordered two sticks at the same time I did. In a total of four sticks, one was defective. Customer service was quick about handling this.

3 out of 5 eggsAlright for what I paid

Pros: Lifetime Warranty, heat shields cheap things cool even a packed HTPC with only a stock Intel fan and one top exhaust.

Cons: Can't handle overclocking (just a slight oc caused this ram to go bad) When you say "Extreme Performance" you should be able to handle a little overclock. I have had to RMA this ram twice, the only thing that made me give them so many eggs was there fast turn around time on my ram. However they do require you to send them the ram even though they don't fix it, they just send you a replacement.

Other Thoughts: Probably won't purchase Patriot again, but honestly everyone just looks at price and this was a good deal at the time. ($55 over a year ago)

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Please note that we can only guarantee that the memory will achieve the rated 800 4-4-4 timings. In regards to how hight it can be overclocked, please be aware that system performance will vary. If you have any issues with your memory or replacement in general please don't hesitate to contact support@patriotmem.com or rma@patriotmem.com if your replacement is failing to achieve the rated speeds.

Thank You for choosing Patriot Memory.

Regards,
Patriot Memory Support

5 out of 5 eggstriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model PVS24G6400LLK

Pros: I purchased 8 GB of this MeM knowing that if I used it I'd not be able to run it much over 800MHz (default) on my OC system. Actually I am able to get 927MHz out of it on a 4-4-4-12 timing which in my case is darn good considering I am running a P5Q-Dlx with iNtel Q9550 @ 4.0GHz on air. I am satisfied with this RAM.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: My personal experience with Patriot getting technical assistance has proven to be above average. Patriot was very helpful in my choice of RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsBest overclocker

Pros: This RAM has to be the best bang for the buck. I have had this a little over a year now and have been running at 920mhz. Recently, I decided to upgrade to ddr2 1066 for now but after playing with this RAM for awhile, I do not need to upgrade. Currently running at 1020mhz. I was hoping for a little more, but this is maxxed out. 1024mhz has errors in memtest. I highly recommend this RAM for anyone who games, or does alot of multitasking.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Asus M4A78-E, AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE @ 3.95ghz, EVGA GTX-260, Patriot Viper DDR2-800, OCZ Vertex 80GB SSD, Corsair 650Watt PSU, SunbeamTech 9 Bay Acrylic Case,

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram! Great Quality.

Pros: Bought this memory in Jan of 09. Still working awesome to this day. Tend to buy memory with taller heatsinks on them for better cooling, and havn't had one issue with this ram. Great buy for anybody!

Cons: None, this ram works perfect even over a year of hard gaming use.

Other Thoughts: I have put Patriot memory in all my system builds the last 3 years, and have not regretted it once. Not one system yet with bad memory. Memory usually outlasts system upgrade time! Thanks Patriot for making very reliable memory.

5 out of 5 eggsK9A2 Platinum v1.0 Still Purring...

Pros: Bought these in February 2008, they are still purring; ran MemTest last week with zero fails while I was away for a day. Currently running with an Athlon64 X2 6400+ supported by an 2GB ASUS EAH4830. Just upgraded my Vista Ultimate x64...see other thoughts, this 'current' setup will be gone soon:

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Just upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Upgrading my [see above] current processor to the Phenom II X4 965 BE and GPU to the 1GB ASUS Radeon EAH5870. I also plan on upgrading to another 4GB of this memory soon...

I have only one concern, will waiting two years to buy the same memory yield me the same memory? As technology/money comes into play, will they remain the same settings as the sticks I currently own, or will this only serve to hurt me? Oh well, I guess I'll learn the hard way. If anyone wants to stop me, I'll wait a week to see if anyone has a valid reason for me not to upgrade to 4GB of this same stick.

Don't underscore this RAM, however, it is more than stable and allows me to play all of my games, even on my current setup, with little trouble. Fallout 3, Batman AA, Bioshock 2 included...

My only concern

4 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM!

Pros: Very efficient, powerful. This RAM is great for gaming, I got 2 packs of this RAM (total of 8GB) for live streaming, radio projects, and gaming, and t took everything I threw at it!

Cons: One of the sticks just died on me. Lasted just 6 months, which was why I took an egg off. Not sure if it was a defective piece or not, but when I booted the machine, I got a long beep. Originally, I thought it was the video card, but it turned out to be the stick of RAM.
