Patriot's Viper memory is as quick as its namesake. The low 8-8-8-20 latencies are supplemented by support for the Intel XMP specification. This 2GB DDR3 1800 kit comes with custom Aluminum Copper Composite heat shields with ribs and fins for exceptional cooling even under extreme load. They have been optimized for Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Extreme processors.
These 100% tested modules come with Patriot's lifetime warranty for worry free use. In addition to quality tests, they've been tested with Intel's P35, X38 and X48 chipsets. They are also RoHS compliant so you know that your system's increased performance isn't hurting the environment.

FAULTY MEMORY
- Pros: None
- Cons: There is something wrong with this memory, Patriot is trying to be up to date with a technology but with this product they failed miserably. Right away after installation my computer crashed, memtest86 showed many errors with the RAM. Managed to restart PC by running at minimum RAM speed, but it would crash again. Sent product back to Patriot for replacement, after 3 weeks they sent me the same one I sent back to them. I marked faulty memory with a scalpel under the microscope. Anyway, I sent it back again because it doesn’t work, 4 weeks past and I am still waiting for my replacement.
- Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY PATRIOT RAM!

Manufacturer Response:Dear BioChip-Redmond, Sorry to hear that you had problems with the memory you purchased and that you experience with our RMA was unsatisfactory. However we must point out that our yields on our products are extremely high and that our RMA turnaround times are one of the best in the industry. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. With Regards, Guy
Off we go!
- Pros: Super fast. Works well with the XMP profile setting (1800MHz) on my Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 board.
- Cons: Had trouble getting second stick recognized (probably a MB problem, though).
- Other Thoughts: Super memory for the price.
SUPERIOR RAM
- Pros: Extremely Fast RAM, Handles very intense loads without overheating, loss of performance, or failures.
The Heatsinks work very well during normal loads all the way to the overclock limits, even in a 4U server case.
Background services are unlikely to consume enough resources to stress the load on even 1x 1GB DIMM let alone 2GB+ (2x 1GB DIMMS or more) of DDR3.
DDR3 Allows faster RAM Frequencies than DDR2, Doesn't have design flaws of predecessors that cause a memory bottleneck (especially in 64bit Operating Systems). DDR3 also has superior options such as support for better Chipsets, better processors, energy efficiency, and superior motherboards with some really advanced, usefull features, and is a superior solution for any type of Workstation or Server. You will have newer RAM than most brand name systems and won't be needing to upgrade to new RAM anytime soon because DDR3 is not yet the standard and motherboards supporting DDR3 are just now becoming common
Made for Over
- Cons: The heatsinks could be made of a more conductive metal.
If your motherboard and/or BIOS doesn't support overclocking then you may which to consider a simpler model of the same RAM.
doesn't have the most common operating voltage compared to similar RAM of the same type. Some motherboards/BIOS might set it wrong if it doesn't allow a manual voltage to be entered or have a preset setting for it.
- Other Thoughts: I used this RAM when building my Recording Studio's Digital Audio Workstation Computer (ASUS P5E3 Deluxe Wifi-AP@on motherboard with a Core 2 Extreme 3.0ghz Quad Core CPU) and Cakewalk Sonar 7 audio projects that froze with my old system's 4GB of DDR2 RAM (and Dual 3.80ghz Xeon Processors) due to the load on the RAM because of all of the audio tracks simeltaneously playing back, sometimes while recording, realtime audio input monitoring being kept at a latency under 40ms, Samples loaded into RAM for plugins like Fxpansion BFD, etc.. Now run without putting a significant load on the RAM, NO Bottlenecks, loss of performance. Can now multitask the very same applications that alone overloaded my previous systems RAM and often caused the page file or read/write caching to do some serious Disk Thrashing.
The RAM has allowed games to run more smoothly, especially Online Games, while running other programs.
