Give your gaming PC more muscle with Patriot G Series Sector 5 memory. Crush your enemies and jump to the top of the scoreboard!

One of the quickest ways to turn your computer into a gaming beast is to install powerful memory. Patriot understands this fact and offers hardcore gamers the efficiency of CAS 9 memory. You'll appreciate the high capacity of 8GB shared between two DIMMs, allowing you to double the data transfer by taking advantage of dual channel technology.

Furthermore, every gamer knows that heat slows down performance. Patriot understands this, which is why each G Series Sector 5 DIMM is equipped with a lightweight, heat-dispersing shield. You'll appreciate the low 1.65V voltage for lower internal temperatures and easier overclocking. Own this memory kit today and pwn your opponents every day!

1 out of 5 eggsDoes its job, when it works.

Pros: Did its job for about 2 weeks, then I started to see signs of failure. Ended up having to send back for an exchange.

Cons: Lasted only weeks

Other Thoughts: Not sure if it was something to do with the shipping process, but the package showed up in really beat up condition.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what its supposed to

Pros: Dirt cheap.
Easy.
Looks nice.

Cons: Isn't edible in case of emergency.

Other Thoughts: Its ram, you slap it in and it works. Having a little trouble overclocking it but thats my system, not the rams fault.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat after setting timings

Pros: It works! (See Thoughts)

Cons: Had to manually set the timings on my motherboard, but that's not really a con. (See Thoughts)

Other Thoughts: So far so good! I had older Patriot Sector 5 memory in my system before (2x 2GB) for a couple years, so it was time to upgrade with 2 more sticks of 4GB, for a combined total of 12GB in my system.

At first, I got a couple of BSOD crashes regarding something with the memory, but I wasn't going to blame the memory just yet. Sure enough after checking the timings, my motherboard was auto-setting them to the wrong values and voltage. After setting it straight (1.65v + 9-9-9-24) no problems since!

It's amazing what adding 8GB of memory can do to a system. I bought this because my computer was slowing down a lot from Photoshop CS6 with only 4GB of memory, (I'm a professional artist.) After sticking 8 extra gigs in there, all that slowdown disappeared and I can open the largest of 16-bit multi-layer images quickly and work on them smoothly!

Pick this stuff up! It's good! Just remember: IF YOU GET BSOD'S FROM THIS MEMORY, CHECK YOUR MEMORY SETUP ON YOUR MOTHERBOARD.

4 out of 5 eggsnice for the price

Pros: comes with a heat sink runs will the temps dont get high.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have room for them as the heatsinks need some room. Had a problem with the CPU cooler I was using would not fit in the slot I wanted it to be in. But other then that I'm getting another pair :D

5 out of 5 eggsNice RAM

Pros: The RAM came nicely made out of the box. Looked pretty sick and was a nice price at the time for 30 bucks. It runs everything fast making start up times pretty quick. Not bad RAM for a first build. Computer is currently running a server and the RAM is helping a lot for only 8 GB.

Cons: Currently None

5 out of 5 eggsGood stable stuff.

Pros: This is good stuff, it's optimized for i5, but could work with AMD chipsets if you tweak the voltage.

Cons: The AMD version of the G Series is usually Tri channel. My mobo is M4a89gtd pro /USB3 and it uses dual channel DDR3 whicg were weird specs for the time. Though that is more a problem with the motherboard I used. I really do wish Patriot made a dual channel set of the version optimized for AMD.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this ram when it would cost over 300 dollars for the set. I'm thinking about buying another set as it's dropped to 40 bucks.
