5 out of 5 eggsGood memory

Pros: 2000mhz
decent timings
amazing price

Like everyone is saying it will run 2000mhz maybe not in XMP depending on your CPU and OC... For me I set command rate to 2n which was auto cause it hated 3n.. also had to bump timings from 9-11-9-27 to 10-11-10-27 for stability in prime95 @ 2005mhz... also lowered xmp qpi voltage from 1.4v to auto and auto is setting it to 1.3v and dram to 1.65v so its fine...

Cons: had to loosen timings... :( and playing with the timings is def. the key I had to change to get it to pass prime95 for 16 hours... for instance @ 9-11-9-27 wouldn't pass prime95 for 3 minutes... but at 10-11-10-27 passes for 16 hours.. go figure...

Other Thoughts: All X58 CPU's are rated for 1066mhz memory and no more.. so don't complain to patriot if it doesn't work 2000mhz... if you have a semi high end x58 chip it will work... play with it... but keep in mind what X58 platform is designed for...

Pros: none

Cons: Could not get stable on 2 motherbrds Gigabyte x58-ud5 and ASUS p6x58D-E. Forums suck only one note to push QPI voltage over spec.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Fuzzhead,

I'm sorry to hear that you had some issues getting your Sector 7 memory working at 2000MHz. Please note that for 2000MHz memory on the X58 platform the reason why we recommended increasing QPI voltage was because this speed is dependent on your cpu controller in one's cpu. This was the case for this speed in general on this platform. For any further technical questions please don't hesitate to send me e-mail and I will be glad to assist in the matter.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid quality

Pros: Very stable and had no issue at all. Running it at 1823Mhz with timings of 9-10-9-25 1t
Now can run BF3 without trashing the HD for virtual ram, google earth and my browsers open at the same time.

Cons: Wasn't able to run the speeds of my previous Corsair Dominator did. This set replaced my 6Gigs (3X2GB) which ran at 1823Mhz 8-8-8-24 1t. You don't really notice the performance different so I rather have more capacity.

Other Thoughts: CPU running speeds;
i7 920 OC @ 3.8Ghz

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid Memory

Pros: Received this memory today, was very impressed by the solid construction and appearance of the DIMM's. After installation and manual settings where completed I booted to the OS and ran 8 hours of Prime95 without any errors. Would strongly recommend this memory to anyone in need of 12 gigs. I was surprised to find the memory running at 2000+ mhz. being able to due so at 9-9-9-25 T1. Can't wait for it to complete memtest86, once it does I push speeds and timings to find out what this memory is capable of.

Cons: Not that this matters much to me, but the XMP profiles are very limited with my EVGA Classified 3 MOBO. Possibly and error on my part, I do perfer the make all setting manually through the BIOS.

Other Thoughts: Spec's of system memory is running on:
CPU Intel X980 @ 4.5 Gig's
EVGA Classified 3 MOBO
Nividia GTX570 3, times SLi
OCZ Veretx 3 120 GB primary drive
Two WD 6GB/per,1TB hot swappable shuttle storage and back-up drives
Creative PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series Sound Card
And of course the 12 GB of Viper Xtreme
1500 Watt Silverstone UPS
All nicely water cooled by Koolance products

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Fast speed and easy to install. Not too tall and very sturdy. I like the black ram modules and the heatspreaders look great.

Cons: Cannot get to run at stock speed yet. May be due to running 2 kits of this. I have it stable at 8 9 8 27 @ 1.65v and 1723 speed.

Other Thoughts: When I first installed this I kept getting 24 gigs installed and 12 usable in W7. I had to bump up my CPU voltage to get stable and all is better. Now to get this ram Stable at stock speeds. To be fair I got this ram for the ability to have lots of different ranges and setting in bios. The challenge with the X58 setup is that not all IMCs are strong enough to run at 2000 and it appears mine may not be either. I could get close to 2064 with only one kit so I may just need to play around for awhile. I really don't want to right now so I am just leaving it where it is at since I am stable and fast enough.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns as fast as promised

Pros: Plugged in and ran. Also runs in XMP mode. Windows experience score for memory is 7.9 with these in XMP mode.

Cons: JDEC choices are limited to 457 (914Mhz), 533 (1066 Mhz) and XMP of 1000 (2000 Mhz). Would have been nice to have an 800 (1600 Mhz) choice. Have to set that up manually if you want to run there.

Other Thoughts: I have benchmarked this at the XMP setting and at 1600 Mhz. The timing for 1600 is much much tighter at 7-8-7-24 than at 2000 Mhz, so the performance is nearly identical. Not taking any eggs for this, but the XMP setting is setting QPI to 1.6 volts. This is beyond the 1.4 continuous operation recommendations you can find from users in the forums. It is also beyond the 1.5 volts that I got Intel to even loosley comment on (they say 1.5 volts max for the memory also). Patriot has assured me this is a safe voltage and Intel's tables say you can go to 1.6. I don't know enough in the area except to see that it doesn't fit with what I have dug up on the web in the overclockers forums. In the end, I am going to set this up at 1600 and tight timing and trim the voltages back some. Hopefully within the Intel recommendation (if you can call "1.5 Volts is recommended" without commitment to which voltage a recommendation).
