Pros: Versatile, has compatibility for more memory cards than I can name. Blue LED so you know it's working. Does what it says it will do.

Cons: Flimsy face plate; doesn't fit as securely in my Rosewill mid tower as I would like (can wiggle slightly from side to side despite being secured in place by tower latching pins)

Other Thoughts: For the price, it's a decent investment if you're just looking for something that'll do the job. No muss no fuss. But if you're looking to build a sleek machine, you might want to spend a bit more to get higher quality.

Pros: Easy install ... install in 3.5 bay, plug into USB header on MB, windows 7 did the rest.

Pros: Lots of ports, great price, fits case well. For the little bit that it did work it was a fast and nice card reader.

Cons: It doesn't work most of the time. It may be my motherboard but I am quite sure it is the device itself. It seems to only work when it wants to and most of the time it constantly "disappears' and reconnects from windows. The power is never interrupted cause the blue led is always on yet it disconnects then connects back in a few seconds. After all that happened and trying to get it to fully work for a few hours It just stopped working completely and is not stuck as an unknown device in device manager.
I have tried the fixes posted by rosewill in these comments about unplugging it and waiting and even tried the uninstall from device manager fix. Nothing seems to work.

gonna have to call rosewill tonight and newegg to see if I can fix it, if not then its gonna have to be replaced

Other Thoughts: USB port still works, but memory card slots don't. Strange. I would advise against buying this card reader unless you want to buy a new one AS SOON as the 1 year warranty on this one expires.

I gave it two stars because it worked perfectly for 14 months before the memory card slots died.

Pros: we're older but bought this for our older tower and New ASUS M5A97 mainboard. it's built well, has lots of slots,USB all work, we don't know what eSATA does but Rosewill does include a nice eSATA power cable. this 3.5 inch card has blue lights. cute, and we like it. So you plug one end into the onboard USB, the red SATA cable into the sata slot, and of course the power cord into molex i think it's called. anyway...went EZPZ for us and we have used slots to watch movies, and we watched 4 parts of the Bible series with no glitch whatsoever. Of course our ASUS and GSkill and PowerColor helped out way lots. Windows 8-64 installed everything for the Rosewill we guess. not sure how to know: ASUS has a Windows 8 64 UEFI driver for graphics. anyway...Rosewill card reader is wonderful. we had broken our very old USB two ports years back on our very old, but all steel tower. remember that SD goes in upside down so don't force cards the other way. Instantly recognized by Windows 8 64 and ASUS. so, Rosewill and Egg to the rescue. Buy one of these.

Cons: We don't know how to use the Rosewill card reader faceplate. we just left it off. the reader fits very snuggly in the 3.5 inch tower space so we don't need a faceplate change to silver, but we saved it. Rosewill supplies 4 new screws for installation.

Other Thoughts: we read some reviewers comments indicating the reader slots are breaking somehow. it's a good idea to have the tower at a level where one can install cards with minimal effort. eye level is best, but of course...
anyway...be gentle.

Pros: Bought 2 in Nov. 2010. Great unit. Never had a problem. Does what it's suppose to do.

Pros: Mine still works. Had it for 4 months now, and use regularly. USB port is nice, and use it daily. I also like how it came with black, and silver faceplates.

Cons: It will probably die soon, but it is fairly cheap, especially with how often it goes on sale.

Pros: Reads cards, looks good in the computer.

Cons: Each computer I placed this in had a component fail. A year an a half into service, the first computer had memory card failure, Moved it to a different system, then the second system had a PCI USB Card failure. The last system a hard drive failed to the point it could not be repaired. Unit still operates, but too afraid to use it any further. Would love to put it in a new system but afraid it will kill it too. Just wondering if there is something wrong with it.
