2 out of 5 eggsWay overpriced

Pros: Its 8 GB.

Cons: It's way over priced. $25 a GB? Really? You can get memory for the fastest platforms of today for less than $7 a GB. Sell the computer and get a new one!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in ASUS F8VA

Pros: No issues, recognized by my ASUS F8VA (discontinued) laptop.

Cons: Works. NO issues

Other Thoughts: ASUS websites claim my laptop will NOT accept 8gb of memory, I am proof it DOES. I run a dual booted Vista and Linux 64 bit .... 8gb made a big difference.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for HP dv7-2040

Pros: HP dv7 notebooks are known to be fussy about RAM. These 2x4GB modules were recognized without problem and are working perfectly in my HP dv7-2040US. I waited for one of my OEM 2GB SO-DIMMS to fail (count on it) so I could justify the jump to 8GB. Boot drive imaging (backup) takes about half the time with 8GB. (I was surprised to see how well Win7 Pro x64 worked on 2GB without much load.)

Cons: No cons.

Other Thoughts: The pix on Newegg showed a 4 chip per side SO-DIMM. The actual SO-CIMM is 8 chips per side.... it works.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy to open packaging.
Easy installation.
Nice price comparatively.
I run VMware Workstation 7.x on an HP DV7 1023CL and this RAM is a perfect match for all the VMs I run.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: Make sure your operating system is x64 before upgrading to this level of RAM.
If you order "Next Day Air" from UPS, realize that it really means "Next Business Day Air"--they don't do Saturday and Sunday--so if you've ordered on a Friday, be prepared to wait until Monday to get your order.
The "Crucial" website has an excellent "Memory Advisor Tool" which will tell you what your system is capable of supporting.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Upgrade for HP DV7

Pros: Less paging out of memory when running multiple memory-intensive applications improves responsiveness

Cons: 4GB SODIMM memory sticks still relatively expensive

Other Thoughts: My HP DV7 was delivered with 4GB of RAM (2x2GB), but I often simultaneously run several memory hog applications, so I doubled up. The DV7's BIOS had to problem correctly recognizing these Mushkin 4GB sticks, and the notebook booted right into Windows.

The memory upgrade coupled with an HDD upgrade to faster 7200RPM drives have made my notebook much more responsive.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works...like it should...so that's great.

Pros: Worked as expected. Also nice was the fact that the packaging was not obnoxiously difficult to open. Seriously, a memory upgrade for a laptop takes either 1 minute or 11 minutes, depending on whether or not you need to spend 10 minutes trying to get the new RAM out of the package.

Cons: None that I can see.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in Dell Latitude D630

Pros: No problems at all. Install it and it works. There is not much else to say about memory.

Cons: None noted, other than the general price of high-density SODIMMs is still very high.

Other Thoughts: If you are going to use 4GB SODIMMs in the D630, make sure you update the system BIOS. Upgrading the system to 2 x 4GB requires BIOS rev A13 or later. At this time, the current revision is A17.
