Mushkin Enhanced Callisto MKNSSDCL120GB 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: 1) It's Mushkin, even if there is a problem- I don't have to find Jimmy Hoffa and do brain surgery to get RMA/support/whatever.
2) SSD make a huge difference in speed, this one is no exception and no problems with it. On the windows benchmark- my i7 930 is the bottleneck.
3) Comes with a drive conversion bracket- you save another $10-$25 for some bent metal with a few holes in it.
4) Basically this is a higher end product from a trusted name.

Cons: 1) Of course the price compared to plate hard drives- but once many moons ago- plate drives were expensive too

Other Thoughts: Mushkin's forums have some usual information- everyone who have bought this drive definitely should head over there and read up.

Pros: Fast, windows experience index went from 5.9 to 7.5. Browser launch is almost instant. Easy to install. Bracket included.

Cons: Only 111 GB formatted. Seems to run a bit hot. Still pricey compared to the Seagate 7200 it replaced.

Other Thoughts: Adobe apps did not see as big a speed increase as I'd like. Not really a con, probably just Adobe.

Pros: I don't think that their is anything else you can buy that will make the speed difference that this drive makes. Mushkin has always had top notch service from right here in the old USA. My Windows hard drive score went from 5.9 to 7.8 so I went from the slowest thing in my system to the fastest. A freash load of Windows 7 64 bit loads in about 15 seconds after the bios screen is done, my bios screen is slow it takes about 15 seconds. Shutdown is about 4 to 6 seconds. I am very happy witht his product as you can tell, I may buy another for the wifes computer.

Cons: None execpt I have extra time because this thing is so fast.

Other Thoughts: While not cheap I have no regrets at all. I don't think I have ever had a upgrade that made this much difference in my machine.

Pros: Seems as good as my Vertex 2 and fast with their vender provided firmware for the controller. SSD is the way to go

Other Thoughts: Buy this from Newegg. I ordered direct from Mushkin this one time and it hung for days without shipping. I notified them and they said it would be shipped next day FedEx. No drive even then. Another apology and finally it shipped being told they would put "something" in the box as bonus for the long wait and promises not kept on shipping. Got Drive. Nothing in box extra. Bad order processing

Pros: The title says it all. Installed on my mother's laptop computer, which was s-l-o-w with Vista. Fresh install of Win7 64-bit launched the 'puter into write/read warp territory. Windows now closes in 8 seconds flat (used to take 30+ with Vista) and opens in less than 30 seconds. Programs open instantly. More than enough space for files along with Windows (95GB left after install). TRIM support out of the box, no need to upgrade firmware. No format needed either. Sandforce controller one of the best on the market. Hopefully, this performance stays the same for years.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Expensive, but not that much when you consider the performance you're getting out of it.

Pros: Proud to be one of the first reviews. Packaging is excellent. Designed and assembled in the USA. Solid Metal case. 111.8 GB usable space after formatting.
I owned a 128GB SSD prior to my Callisto. It had a 255 read and 190 write. Getting a 6.8 WEI. Wanted faster!
After installing the Callisto I am getting a 7.8. Wow You can feel the differance. The SSD is now the fastest performer. WEI for me from top to bottom is: 7.4 7.4 7.5 7.5 7.8.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This SSD is new and just hit the market. Inital price was reasonable. There are alot of SSD out there with far lower performance at higher prices, I am sure the lower performers will see big price cuts soon as the newer ssd's come with the new powerful Sandforce 1222 controller.
