5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Very fast. Throughput hasn't slowed down at all in the year I've owned this. Access time remains at .1-.3ms.

Cons: Same as other SSDs due to the drawbacks of the memory technology.

Other Thoughts: In order to combat that however, I've left 30GB of unpartitioned free space at the beginning and end of the drive, which is supposed to help with wear leveling.

I've had previous experience with SSDs which I fully partitioned, then filled up and stopped functioning either properly or altogether. I feel like I can safely say that keeping some free space will make sure you can use your drive for much longer. This however is not the fault of Mushkin, but the technology they use. Mushkin makes the best SSDs in my experience, even when not considering the price, which I've found to be lower than the competition.

3 out of 5 eggsNever is detected for firmware update on windows

Pros: Its a decent ssd, but starts to suffer when it gets full ( as they all do)

Cons: When trying to firmware update the drives they never show up, I had to download and make a linux live disk to update the firmware which was annoying but it worked.

Other Thoughts: The only reason id buy another one is so i could raid 0 them as the 240 gb is really not enough. I have also seen poor raid 0 benchmarks with these drives.

5 out of 5 eggsMushkin is a fine brand.

Pros: I have used this drive for around a year now, no problems running 24/7, it is the fastest and cheapest SSD you can get for your buck and I have looked! I have gotten another one for a friend, and it runs perfectly. I'm behind the mushkin brand name now.

Cons: None, Thanks mushkin.

5 out of 5 eggsMe Likey

Pros: Nearly as fast as advertised! With ATTO 2.47, I was seeing transfer rates of 548MB/s read & 494MB/s write. Not too shabby.

Cons: I didn't buy two. :/

Other Thoughts: The firmware update process is a breeze and v5.0.6 installed without a hiccup. Mushkin gets an A+ from me. :)

5 out of 5 eggs3rd Review - Now with 2 in RAID 0

Pros: Was fast and stable as single drive. With two of these in RAID 0 they are just as stable/reliable, with massive increases in most read/write speeds.
I performed one firmware update since purchase - went smoothly with no problems.

Cons: Still quite pricey.

Other Thoughts: This review update is mainly to look at how these perform in a RAID 0 array.
I had 2 Intel X25-M 80GB SSDs in RAID 0 for several years in my LGA 755 rig for several years with zero issues. When I built my latest rig around socket 1155 I wanted to try the latest Mushkin as I had previous success with their Callisto models. The Chronos Deluxe Enhanced is much faster than that model. When it proved stable after several months of use, I decided to add another to achieve the performance gain I saw with my previous X25-M setup.

Here are some results of before and after testing with a single drive, and two in RAID 0. This is the system volume, and stripe size is 16K, btw.

Testing with Crystal Disk Mark x64 3.0.2
-----------------------------------------

Single SSD:
Seq. read/write MB/s - 498/287
4K random read/write MB/s - 34/95

RAID 0:
Seq. read/write MB/s - 841/518
4K random read/write MB/s -30/230

Note:
In RAID 0, 4K random reads are very slightly lower than single drive performance due to RAID controller overhead.
For added reliability and performance stability I provisioned even more spare space than that built in to the SSD, by only formatting to 80% of capacity. It costs space but I haven't seen any slowdown yet in performance after daily use as a mainly gaming rig.
I back up frequently in case either drive fails or the RAID array gets corrupted.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price/performance SSD

Pros: - Great speeds
- Solid so far!
- Perfect size for gaming machine
- Great price, especially on sale!!!

Cons: - Potential Reliability issues I suppose but my SSD has been rock solid since day 1. I'm not removing an egg for this since I haven't experienced it myself

Other Thoughts: I installed this SSD on my ASUS M4N72-E mobo with worthless OCZ reaper 1066 DDR2 RAM. The only reason I had a problem installing Win7 64-bit is because of that stupid RAM, it's always given me troubles! Besides that, the SSD is great, installed Windows fast, and that's just on SATA II! I just bought a new Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5 to go with my new FX8350 so I'm excited to see what this SSD will do with SATA III connections!! If you're looking for unparalleled price/performance grab this SSD RIGHT NOW!!!

Pros: I had one of such drives for a long time (over a year), never a problem. recently added a second one for ssd raid0 and they run great!
*very fast!

*firmware 5.0.6 fixes all issues for me

Cons: flimsy power connector and lacks the ability to clip the sata cable in it.
