1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work!!

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model 977033A

Pros: When it worked, sped up my Imac

Cons: Crashed my rig multiple times. No issues since removed. First time I've had to RMA something here. Hope it's the last.

1 out of 5 eggsDid not work with iMac late 2013

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model 977033A

Pros: Cost

Cons: These sticks where shown to fill all the requirements that the iMac (late 2013 i5 27inch) and while the computer did recognize the RAM sticks, the iMac actually slowed down, was randomly restarting, and crashing.

Removing the RAM sticks fixed this error.

Newegg sent me a replacement, and the same thing happened.

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model 977033A

Pros: No problems what so ever, couldn't be happier

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Used in my mid 2012 macbook pro 13" (just purchased it, 4g was not enough immediately upgraded to 8gb)

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model 977033A

Pros: I've had this RAM since last July (2012) and the performance has been great. It's being used in a base model 2012 15 inch Macbook Pro with absolutely no issues. The other reviewer must have gotten some bad sticks.

Cons: none

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

This review is from: Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model 977033A

Pros: Fast based ram
8Gb
CAS timing

Cons: Probably almost destroyed my macbook! *

Other Thoughts: I was majorly disappointed for this ram. I was hoping that due to the lifetime warrenty, and it being a better known company, the pair of mushkin ram sticks would of worked nicely. It did not, and instead probably almost destroyed my mobo or some other parts. I have had a mac before where when I installed the ram, it made the logic board and hard drive go bad. I booted up my macbook with both sticks installed, and heard the disk drive spin up, but come to a black screen. I took out one stick, computer booted to the Apple desktop fine, so I tried the other stick. At first trying the other stick made it boot to the apple logo, but it just restarted itself. Tried then reseating both sticks and swapped slots, at first the Apple boot noise sounded like garbage noises coming out, and it did this a few times. I just endless ways of testing that bad stick to see the outcomes, and eventually just led to black screen on boot. I will post an update after I receive my RMA.
