Will this work as the main hard drive in an HP DC7900?

The HP DC7900 series computer was released in March 2011 as a technology prior to SATA 6 and before TRIM technology. In simple terms, YES you CAN use the Mushkin MKNSSDAT240GB mSSD as a boot drive with the proper adapter accompanied with TRIM support software, however I personally would not recommend this specific drive for that particular application.

Firstly, looks like you've got an AWSOME laptop there. As for installing an mSATA drive, it appears to depend on which model of that laptop you actually have. An mSATA drive is solid state but doesn't use the same slot as a "normal" SSD drive. The cards are tiny and use a special slot that looks sort of like the ones that laptop RAM uses. I would look in the user manual, open your laptop up, or call the manufacturer to confirm whether or not you have an mSATA slot in your laptop. If you do a Google search on "MIS GT70 mSATA" you will find some discussions about exactly what you are trying to do.

If you're trying to do what I did and make the mSATA your boot drive and use the physical drive for data then you are on the right track. Boot and software load times are very fast with this drive. Good Luck!

Will this drive fit in the Dell Inspiron 910 or Dell mini 9?

I know for a fact that the Inspiron 910 uses a PATA based SSD. The Mushkin SSD is SATA. You will need to use a converter board along with the drive just to install it. I can not assure you that the BIOS would support a 256Gb drive, but that does not mean it will not work even if you have to partition the first part of the drive to 16GB.
