Every computer needs more memory, unless you've filled all your slots. There's always some excuse, er, reason that you need more. No matter what you have, or if you're building something new, memory is vital. Usually, the more you have the better the computer will perform. Just make sure you have the "right stuff".

Designed specifically for Nvidia SLI platforms, the OCZ Flex family of system memory is engineered to give your performance a real boost. With the uniquely designed heatsink the memory can be overclocked to your heart's content and not overheat within your computer.

OCZ's 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 module is perfect for accelerating your computer's performance. High performance systems such as gaming machines will get the most out of this high performance memory. This specific type happens to be DDR2 1066(PC2 8500) running at 1,066MHz. For a simple way to increase performance of your system pickup some of OCZ's high performance memory and you will see a huge difference in your system's response.

1 out of 5 eggsCon-ed?

Pros: It's nice running it...

Cons: Purchased two sets of these in 2007... only for all of them to be different and my BIOS could not "SLI" the memory on my striker extreme, the option was grayed out. epic fail. =[

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Nvidia's SLI feature will only operate with 2 sticks installed. 4 sticks will cause the option to be disabled as you mention. This is not due to your OCZ memory. If you are having a problem with either memory kit, please visit the link below and create a support ticket. You are covered under our lifetime warranty, and we are always glad to help.
Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsOverall Very Good

Pros: Not much to say about the memory itself. It's fast RAM. OCZ warranty and support is great.

Cons: After about a year two modules started showing errors but OCZ quickly RMA'd me a new set. They were very fast responding to my messages.

Other Thoughts: I guess this might or might not be a negative point but you might have to do some tweaking to get two of these 2GB kits to work together at specified timings and frequency (four modules). I raised my north bridge voltage slightly and it smoothed everything out.

5 out of 5 eggsOCZ Rocks!

Pros: This is great memory. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: A little research really helps. With so many MB's and Memory options out there you need to know what works with what. This is running at 533Mhz. (this is correct for Dual Channel. 533 + 533 = 1066) The optimal setting for my system are the manufactures recommended setting. 5-5-5-15-22 2t @ 2.1v.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: low price at time.

Cons: Took some time to get to run at 1066 due to motherboard and cpu.

Other Thoughts: I get blue screen error codes, just tried memtest and the whole bottom of page has streaming address error codes.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry that you are having difficulties. Please visit our support forums at the link below an post in the memory section for assistance.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Ram

Pros: Looks cute I guess...
Pretty good timing, excellent price, they're OCZ...
Plugged em into the 780i SLi ForTheWin and the mobo noticed them right away and clocked them up to the E8500. True plug and play again with this combo.
Great ram, will post again in about 6 months.

Also the fact that newegg is ridiculous with they're shipping, ordered them tuesday (no rush processing or anything) They got here on tuesday, funny thing is that I got the tracking number the day I got the motherboard and ram. Outstanding...

Cons: They don't make my car any faster...

Other Thoughts: EVGA 780i ForTheWin, E8500 Core 2 Duo, 2 gigs OCZ Sli ram, 250/320 gig seagates. Nothing too special but pretty slammin' for a 17 y.o.

4 out of 5 eggsSome issues...

Pros: I bought the first kit and installed it, everything was working fine. 5-5-5-15 @ 1147mhz with 2.3v stable with no errors. Was a significant upgrade from old 667 RAM.

Cons: I bought a second set of this RAM to run along-side my first set. When running both sets, it wasn't stable at all, even at stated 1066/2.1v speeds. I would never get errors on memtest or prime95, but games would always crash due to a memory related error. I thought it may have been many other variables with what I had installed. I returned my whole system to stock to still be at no avail to the situation.

Other Thoughts: I now have these clocked at 1068/1.95v and runs stable during oblvion/bf2 for about 30 minutes before it crashes. My only other idea is that my PSU isn't putting out enough for these to be volted normally. Running at 2.3v I get instant artifacts and lockups, but no BSODs. Running at 2.1v I get artifacts after about 10 minutes and lockups. Running at 1.95v, I get artifacts and lockups after about 2 hours of testing. My only other possible thought is that I'm cutting my system short on power.

Rig:
Q6600@3.2ghz G0 Stepping
4gb OCZ 1066 RAM
Gigabyte EP43-DS3LR Mobo
8800GTS 512 SC'd
160gb/320gb WD SE HDD
Antec 900 Case
500w Apevia PSU (3.3v@28a,5v@30a,12v1@16a/12v2@18a)

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, this memory is rated at 1066mhz only when used as a 2gb kit. When you combine kits for 4gb total, you add an additional load to your memory controller, and this is the cause of the errors you are seeing when running 1066mhz. We recommend lowering your speed (try 1000mhz) until you achieve stability at the rated voltage and run there. If you have any questions please visit our support forums at the link below and post for assistance.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems at all

Pros: No issues what so ever. I didn't have to change any settings in the bios to make it run. Just installed and went for it. Purchased Feb 2009, still running fine.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I had read that some of the OCZ rams don't like the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard I am using, so I was actually expecting to have to changes some settings in the bios, but I guess this particular model of ram you don't have to. Was a very pleasant surprise

3 out of 5 eggsThird time's a charm

Pros: OCZ has been very good about the RMA process. They respond quickly if you follow support on their web site. The RAM works great... when it works. OCZ compensated for shipping costs when I had to ship the second set.

Cons: RMA'd two sets. First set worked for almost a year and then bit the dust right out of the blue. Second set arrived and one stick was DOA. When I first purchased these almost two years back, they were about 180 dollars for two gigs!

Other Thoughts: Figured it was my 680i at first since a lot of people had problems, but it turned out to be the RAM. Like I said, OCZ compensated for shipping the second time. I asked them to pay for the shipping and they were to send out a UPS label, but were having problems getting labels out due to the holidays. They sent me a free 4GB ATV flash drive for my trouble. OCZ has been good about the process but when it costs 15 bucks to ship and RMA the RAM I believe I'll just buy something else if it happens again.
