Unleash the power of Platinum! OCZ's Platinum Edition DDR3 memory module set the standards for high speed memory modules. This dual channel 2GB kit is rated to run at 1333MHz and has CL 7-7-7-20 timings for blazing performance. Each kit is 100% hand tested for performance and compatibility.
The XTC heat spreaders are designed to take advantage of the micro convection currents that occur in the channels between the individual memory chips. The platinum mirrored honeycomb design facilitates maximum heat distribution. The rigid frame, in addition to proclaiming to the world what memory you use also helps to reinforce structural rigidity in the module.
OCZ knows that you want to win, and that means pushing your system to the limits. That's why they have a 1.95V EVP plan. You can push you're the VDIMM on your motherboard up to 1.95V without voiding your warranty.

Voltage... newbies read
- Pros: Got the second set today, very nice ram and tight timings. 4gb of this DDR3 now in my systemw ith vista ultimate If i was running XP I wouldnt of bothered but vista really does like to use up over 1gb of ram just idling in most situations...
- Cons: Now here is why I wrote a second review, I had blue screen after blue screen, im a DDR3/core 2 extreme/nvidia mobo newbie, never built a system with this new stuff, last system built was P4 extreme and AGP setup lol ya...
So if your building a pc with this ram for first time PLEASE for your own sake go into bios and set the voltage MANUALLY to 1.8 to be stable... I found out the very very hard way this wasnt stable at the auto voltage of 1.5V !!
- Other Thoughts: OCZ, put a sticker on the ram saying "WARNING: SET VOLTAGE TO 1.8V IN BIOS" or something because most people buying this know what they are doing, but then again there is alot of people just getting into system building as well, so this is gonna make alot of problems people getting issues with crashes and lockups due to the ram failing without enough voltage....
If you want performance, GET THIS RAM!!!
- Pros: Pros: a)dual shiny silver reflective heat spreaders b)the proof is in the performance - these things are smokin' c)I have these in a Maximus Extreme MOBO and they're running 1700MHz @ CL8-8-8-20 with no problems whatsoever (yeah, that's high, but its sitting right near OCZ's rated EVP). d)even at a slightly elevated CL8 timing, these things still have latencies less than high-speed (cough) DDR2 at 1066. e)the heat dissapation is very minimal due to high efficiency, so they stay nice and "cool" to the touch (ie warm, not hot)
- Cons: No cons. They do their job, and do it well.
- Other Thoughts: I had to buy these from another online store since newegg was out of stock it seems almost indefinately...

Fast and works
- Pros: Its fast and it works right out of the box. Great price!!
- Cons: I should have ordered more!
- Other Thoughts: What I Ordered...
Crosshair IIIFormula Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR3 1333
Perfect!
- Pros: They are nice looking and they worked from the get go as always with OCZ. See some people having problems, but I have to say I use OCZ When ever I can I have not had to RMA anything at this point. Mishandling of a card or board can kill it in a split second. static discharge from your hand can be as much as 30VDC.
- Cons: No con's
- Other Thoughts: Some of these people that have trouble..I have to wonder if mabey they had an accident while engineering their rig. Most people probably don't understand about static demons. Touching a circuit board without a static strap would be dangerous and risky. A board should be handled by the edges and avoid touching contacts or edge connectors.
My New System
- Pros: After installation on my Ausus Maximus Extreme MB this RAM Maxed out every app & Game i installed Automatically with the exception of GTA IV, but thats the games binary glitches... I am DEFINITELY buying more of this high powered memory juice in the near future!!! thanks again NEWEGG
- Cons: it gets pretty warm, but my PC has 12 fans in it so eh, power bill is high...
- Other Thoughts: Newegg was EXTREMELY fast with shipping & support was above & beyond what ANY other tech company has ever provided for the Price
